A story of each one of us...

Well this little piece started off as a comic about when Vax and Vex were taken from their mother, that I'd had rolling around in my head for a while. But I'm a crappy artist, don't have the patience to re-draw the same faces again and again, and it basically turned out as stick figures...so that idea was scrapped...my second attempt was a short story, and instantly the inspiration clicked, like the story was writing itself. In all the many, and long, episodes of Critical Role, the twin's mother has almost never been mentioned, and I wanted to explore her character. I don't know where this woman came from, but she was a beautiful person, and it was so heartbreakingly wonderful to write about her.

However, they're not the greatest mercenaries or the top hundred. But despite all that, they're now tasked with defending the realm. Along with them, is an armored warrior from a distant land home to other warriors who were trained from birth, who hunt monsters in their culture, worship winged-reptilian monsters known as Wyverns, and that they never show their faces, but their home was destroyed by a force that not even they could face.
