This story involves a family of six with the father stationed in Vietnam in the US Air Force. It is the early 1970's and war protesting is rampant on television and in schools. The story follows closely how this family dealt with the hazards facing the father as well as the hatred of those protesting stateside. This culminates in a showdown between a school system, a mother, a US senator and the war that tore this country apart.

This is a collection of reviews of BL-series and movies from Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, Myanmar, Singapore, Japan, Cambodia, and Vietnam, some of which I have already published on mydramalist.com. The series I am reviewing here are not necessarily the most popular ones. Series like "1000 Stars", "I told Sunset About You" etc have been reviewed again and again by many people, so I don't want to write the 100th review about them. The characters and settings are an amalgam of a lifetime of experience, sometimes intense, of all sorts of people and places. In themselves, however, they are entirely fictional. Any resemblance to real persons, places or events, other than what is clearly public knowledge, is coincidental. If you're looking for sex in every paragraph, you need to look elsewhere.

This is a short story based on the first chapter of "The Things They Carry". I have never read the full book, so it should make sense to people who haven't read the book. It is from the perspective of Martha, a girl in America who a soldier in Vietnam, named Jimmy, is in love with.
