Hiccup Horendous Haddock III loved Berk with all his heart. It was the place where he was born, and where his family lived for generations. He would do anything to keep them safe, to help them grow and improve, even if it meant he could no longer live on Berk itself. Even if it meant risking his own life. And even if it meant everyone there...thought he was dead.

Hiccup never knew the truth of what his mom had done, nor did he know about his sister. A sister not even Stoick knew existed. One Valka had after she left. Two siblings with a love for dragons but two different backgrounds. One a leader and the other a warrior.

Long ago, there was a village of vikings on a small island known as Berk, which suffered weekly, sometimes even nightly raids from fire breathing dragons. However the chief's wife, Valka, believed peace was possible between the Vikings and Dragons but no one believed her. During a terrible raid, she was taken by a dragon that showed signs of kindness. However she wasn't the only one taken since she grabbed her infant, Hiccup Haddock the Third, to keep him away from a fire started by the dragon who was startled by her husband. Unfortunately she couldn't grab her other son, a toddler, in time and he was left behind with his father. Over the years, the boy grew up hating dragons and counted down the days until he could join the warriors in battle, defending his village and avenging his brother and mother. However his father always kept him inside the forge during raids in fear of losing the only family he had left. There, the boy became a bit of an inventor as well as a decent blacksmith. However all of that changed when one night, using one of his inventions, he shot down the most dangerous and mysterious dragon in the entire Archipelago. The Night Fury...

PLEASE READ PART ONE FIRST!!!! Hiccup and his cousins, Snotlout and Sylvie, have become an inseparable trio over the years, not that most of Berk would know that, due to their needing to keep their friendship a secret. But when Hiccup befriends a dragon, things begin to change in inexplicable ways, and that's not even counting the very determined twin who is intent on making him see her as a potential partner in life, not that he realizes that, but, well...this is our sweet, oblivious Hiccup we're talking about. Through it all, Hiccup manages to defeat the Queen of the nest, but just because the dragons aren't attacking anymore, doesn't mean Berk will easily adapt to the changes. Tough decisions must be made that will change all they've ever known or dreamed of, leading them on the adventure of a lifetime. I don't own HTTYD or its characters.

I wrote this on my other account and am trying to switch everything to this one. Sorry if it's bad I wrote it on my computer and don't have my assistant on it. And the story can be confusing at parts but I'm too lazy to fix it. I do not own any characters they are all owned by Cressida Cowell.

Set in an AU where Hicca (Female Hiccup) was abandoned by Stoick shortly after the raid where Valka was taken, only to be found by Drago's army and for her to be taken in as his daughter, to grow to have no memory of the place that was once her home. Daughter Of The Armada shows Hicca's story from the age of 15 after being abandoned, More details to be added later into concept stage... Temporary cover by Diana G J (Deviantart: https://www.deviantart.com/dianagj/ ) A/N: Daughter Of The Armada uses a female Hiccup OC as I believe it would better suit it with the change in characters regularly present (to be revealed at a later point, obviously) as well as being out of the authors own preference over normal Hiccup for this concept (I've trialed with both, this one seems to work best, it's not just for the extra tags, I swear) and as a nod to the fanfic which inspired this concept.

Have you ever heard of "How to train your dragon 1 & 2." this story is set in the middle of those two films, when Hiccup and the gang are 18, you might of heard about the Netflix show "Race to the edge." this story is based on that. But it also has my own ideas in it.
