The Bridge tells the story of twins Jordan and Reese(15) at an all girls boarding school in Vermont. Even though boarding was their way out of their dysfunctional family drama, they find themselves in new and exciting situations every day. Reese is an optimistic intellectual who is so sure of her place in the world. She's so used to being right, that she sees what she wants to see. Jordan is the introverted athlete who has trouble controlling her anger at times. Despite her low self-confidence(which she would never admit to) and occasional outbursts, she is far more aware of the people around her than Reese. Despite their differences, the sisters are more alike than they think. Both of them suddenly are struggling with their sexuality and identity and end up falling for a few very different girls along the way. Overall The Bridge is a beautifully told coming of age story about girls who suddenly find themselves growing up and how they cope with a variety of situations.
