Each child is given an object. The object will tell the child to love or killed. If not read correctly the child might accidentally kill their future mate. The object will give off a color if to love the person on the other end. Jerome is slightly color blind so it will be difficult for him to read. Mitchell, however, knows what his object means. Lachlan goes missing. No one knows why, or who took him, or where he went. There was a man, a lone, unidentified man on the security footage that lead him away from the bar while his friends stood, waiting for him. With no witnesses willing to come forward and hope running out fast, what is there to do? First a day passes. Then a week. Everyone is frantic, pleading his return- pleading for information. Someone must know what happened, someone must have seen him. Someone took him, and that someone is still holding him. If they hadn't killed him already. Time ticks on. Vikk can't continue a normal life like this, no one can move on. There are photographs, memorials, tributes and everyone is still pleading for someone to come forward, but no one does. How can anyone move on like this?

The pack has adopted several girls each with different parents. Poofles owns Megan a trouble maker. Vikklan owns Sarah the smart one. But Merome doesn't have a daughter yet until a little girl named Dustie enters there life.

What happens when one pulls the others heart strings? Do they pull back or snap the strings?

It's been more than 500 years since humanity tore itself apart, a series of natural disasters and nuclear war killing most of the population. The world is still irradiated and people are still dying, but small groups of survivors are making the best of what they have. Everyone is looking out for their own survival. Mitch and Jerome were born days apart, the only survivors of a large family group, struggling with the realization that humanity wasn't as perfect as they thought. Mitch wants to believe that humanity did good. Josh and Simon seemingly have everything they needed, food, water, shelter and each other, but Josh wants more than that. He wants to begin the journey back to where humanity was, to where everyone could live comfortably. Lachlan and Rob were trying their best to keep their little group alive, making the most of the natural resources around them while Preston battles with the idea of religion, old versus new. Harry and Vikk simply want to find peace in their life, stability with a group of people they could trust. There isn't much trust in a world where resources are scarce. All of them dream of more, of a better life. Can they find what they were looking for? This story is also a Vikklan and Poofless story, which is why those ships are tagged.

Mitch- Charity- knows something is wrong. At 18 she is of the age to be betrothed and since a young age she has been told again and again it is her duty to be a good wife and godly mother to the children she is supposed to bear. But she doesn't want to be a wife and she doesn't want to be a mother. She doesn't have the words for it yet, but she knows she isn't a girl. His saviour comes sooner than he expected as he cries in the field, his name having been read out that day at church. One of the 6 eligible boys around his age has been given permission to court and eventually propose to him and five other girls also chosen, but he isn't ready for it. It was against the rule to talk to boys, yet Jerome comforts him- and then suggests something crazy. A way to get out. A way to be free, live their lives the way they want to. But to do that, both have to cope with knowing that if they left, they would never talk to their families again. But first, they need to contact the outside world, and to do that, they need to be married. This book is based on partially on I am not Esther, a book about a girl in a religious cult, and partially on a real life religious cult. Gloriavale is a Christian fundamentalist group near Greymouth, existing separate from our modern world. I highly suggest searching Gloriavale on YouTube and reading the book for some more detail about this world.
