Lucy can read anyone. She notices the things people think they hide: a change in posture, a hand held too still, the pause before an answer that isn't quite true. She has spent years turning those details into a profession. She wasn't always Lucy. At nineteen, she left behind the life that had been chosen for her. Then she chose everything else herself. Her name. Her work. The red hair. The black clothes. The rules that keep people at exactly the distance she wants them. For eleven years, that distance has held. Then she meets someone who pays attention to her in the same way she pays attention to everyone else. Lucy knows what people want before they admit it. She knows when they're performing, when they're afraid, when they're lying to themselves. What she doesn't know is what to do when someone notices the things she has never said aloud. The Truth She Wears is a psychological romance about a woman who built herself deliberately, and what happens when being known begins to feel less dangerous than being alone. Book Two of the Trap of Desire Universe. Can be read as a standalone.

Interlude 5.1 - Aftermath Features emotional vulnerability, questionable Vulcan coping strategies, slow-burn romance, mild sensuality, and two highly intelligent officers making spectacularly complicated decisions about their feelings. No explicit content. Only emotional damage. Following the events of Phase Shift, Commander Spock and Commander Francis Lancaster are forced to confront a truth neither Vulcan discipline nor human instinct can solve alone. As the Enterprise moves on, both officers must decide what kind of future is possible when grief, longing and trust become stronger than control. some things are easier to write than they are to say. so i write. i write about him. about myself. about the things i want, the things i lose, the things i pretend don't hurt. i write about love when it feels beautiful. about love when it feels ugly. about wanting someone so badly it scares me. about anger that doesn't know where to go. about the things i say, the things i don't, and everything that lives somewhere in between. some poems are love letters. some are confessions. some are apologies. some are resentment. some are anger i don't know where else to put. and some are just me trying to understand why loving someone can feel so much like losing myself. there are things in here i never say out loud. things i don't know how to explain without sounding crazy, dramatic, too emotional, too much. so they end up here instead. this isn't a story told after everything is over. it's me, in the middle of it. while it's happening. while I'm feeling it. while I'm still trying to figure out what the fuck any of it means. unfiltered. unfinished. still becoming. so if you're into that bullshit ironic fairytale everyone's read before, go ahead and find something else. this one is real. this one is unquestionably raw. and most importantly unapologetically me.

She was an editor who had spent her life refining other people's truths while hiding from her own. He was a translator who spoke through others' voices because he was afraid his own would not be enough. In the two weeks before Valentine's Day, they were forced to work together on a manuscript that demanded everything they had refused to give: honesty, vulnerability, and the willingness to be wrong. Their professional clash became something neither of them planned, a slow unraveling of the defenses they had built so carefully, a discovery that the space between languages might be the only place where two broken people could finally learn to speak. Set against the snow-covered streets of New York, this is a story about the courage it takes to let someone see you completely, and the unexpected intimacy of finding home in the last place you thought to look.
