Short poems exploring the pain of losing someone without truly losing them, but losing yourself instead. A quiet grief for the past version that will never return, and the fragile hope of becoming something new, until sorrow slowly turns into joy. 📌 Pinterest board: https://pin.it/397dQqEff

Writer's Room: Behind the Scenes of She Thrives Here This is not the full novel. This is the room where it's being built. In this series, I share the scenes I almost didn't write, the parts I cut, the moments that shifted my voice, and what it feels like to create a story while still healing. She Thrives Here began as survival. It became something else. If you've ever wrestled with telling your truth... If you've ever wondered what it costs to put your life on paper... If you want to sit inside the process instead of just reading the finished product- You're in the right place. New entries twice a week. This story is still unfolding.

Some things i never said out loud. Some things i didn't even realize i felt... This isn't poetry. This is just me being honest in pieces. Raw thoughts. quiet realizations. The kind of feelings you don't always know how to explain but you feel them anyway. Maybe you'll see yourself in some of this. Maybe you won't. Either way... this is what's been on my mind.

You were already broken long before anyone noticed. Carrying quiet wounds, learning how to survive with pieces missing. The world had taught you how to endure, but never how to heal. Then someone entered your life unexpectedly. Not to fix you, but to stay. Through simple moments and unspoken understanding, they showed you that pain didn't have to be permanent, and that change didn't always arrive loudly. Sometimes, it came gently. Through a hand held, a truth shared, and the courage to believe that even shattered things could learn to become whole again.

What if we had better language for our inner lives? Most of us learn the names of colors long before we learn the names of emotions. We can tell the difference between crimson and pink, between the gray of a cloudy morning and the darker gray of rain about to fall. But when someone asks how we feel, the answers often collapse into a handful of familiar words: good, bad, fine, tired. Every Feeling I Could Name is a poetic exploration of the emotional vocabulary we carry-and the many feelings that exist just beyond it. Organized around the subtle landscape of human emotion, this collection moves through moments of tenderness, restlessness, longing, grief, wonder, and quiet joy. Some poems linger in the still spaces of reflection; others pulse with energy, curiosity, and discovery. Together they trace the shifting terrain of the inner life: the thoughts we circle, the feelings we struggle to articulate, and the quiet revelations that arrive when we learn to sit with them. With language that is both intimate and accessible, Nicky Bennett invites readers into a contemplative journey through the many shades of being human. Each poem becomes an act of attention-a small attempt to name what so often remains unnamed. This is a book for readers who love thoughtful, modern poetry and for anyone who has ever paused mid-sentence, searching for the right word for what they feel. Every Feeling I Could Name reminds us that emotions are rarely simple-and that sometimes the act of naming them is where understanding begins.

In the shadowed hours when sleep evades the weary soul, we build altars from the fragments of a fractured world - raw free verse that confronts the ego's crushing weight and the digital haze of modern exile. These poems draw from noir nights and Catholic introspection, unearthing resilience amid PTSD's echoes, Ozark folklore's whispers, and a faith that questions even as it clings to Christ's sacrifice in the stranger's gaze. Here, beauty blooms in imperfection: an outlaw's crown forged from internal turmoil, societal manipulation, and the slow, deliberate repair of a GenX heart scarred by life's dust and screen-lit nihilism. With a gravelly edge and a defiant grace, the collection favors practical gratitude over grand illusion - inviting readers to linger at these insomniac altars, where transformation whispers louder than chaos. For readers who crave poetry that bleeds honesty, resists the rush of progress, and finds divinity in the everyday grind. A collection that listens for one blood's cry - and lingers like a half-remembered dream.

This is not a love story. This is not a fairytale. This is a quiet space filled with the words I kept to myself- the late-night thoughts, the silent heartbreaks, the questions I never asked, and the feelings I was too afraid to say out loud. Thoughts I Never Said is a collection of raw, honest pieces- from overthinking moments and quiet realizations to fragments of joy, sadness, hope, and healing. These aren't perfect words. They're just real. If you've ever felt too much and said too little, maybe you'll find a part of yourself here too.

Helena crosses a line she knows she should never have crossed. Kaine reacts - cold, controlled, distant. And for one long moment, it feels like everything might break. ______ Post-war emotions, fragile boundaries, and a misunderstanding that carries more weight than it should. - English isn't my first language, but these characters mean a lot to me. Thank you for giving this story a chance.

Some little writings about mental health, I use mine as a reference. I feel like mental health is such a huge issue and nobody ever feels comfortable talking about it, because either they feel like it's putting a burden on the person listening or the person listening doesn't know how to react to it. At some point, how you feel mentally has to be talked about. I don't know if you'll relate to what I post or what I write, but it's also how I feel and struggle with on a daily basis. If you ever wanna give some feedback and let me know if its relatable, definitely feel free to do so.

These are monologues written after the moment passes. Not arguments. Not confessions. Just the things you think when you realize you might be too much for some people - and not enough for yourself. This isn't a diary. It's a record of feelings that didn't get to speak.
