In a world where emotions were power, a single glitch can level a city. South Korea is the pinnacle of the future-a utopia built on Conduit Engineering. Here, magic isn't a fairy tale, it's a commodity. Human feelings are harvested, bottled, and sold to power everything from skyscrapers to the very air people breathe. But the system only works if the source is stable. Aluna is anything but stable. A student from Jakarta with bipolar disorder, she is one of the rare Unbound Conduits. Her emotions manifest as the Celestial Weathervane: when she is high the aurora flares, when she is low the world freezes. To the Magic Safety Task Force (MSTF), she is a ticking bomb that needs to be 'stabilized'-a polite term for stripping the soul. Desperate to keep her magic and her mind intact, Aluna was chosen to represent her university for an exchange program in Seoul-the most monitored city on Earth. Hidden behind her textbooks and protected by her fierce best friend, Aluna must navigate a city of sensors designed to hunt her down. But Seoul holds a secret more dangerous than any detector. Among the elite 'monsters' who govern the city's energy, lives a Resonant Void-a person built of silence who can swallow Aluna's storms whole. He is the only one who can save her from the MSTF, and the only one capable of erasing her entirely. In the city of a thousand lights, the most dangerous thing you can do is feel.

Most people run from the storm. Millicent "Millie" Carter runs straight into it. A professional storm chaser and one of the internet's fastest-growing weather vloggers, Millie has spent her life documenting tornadoes, hurricanes, and lightning-filled skies. Every chase is fueled by equal parts adrenaline and purpose-warning communities before disaster strikes while capturing the breathtaking power of Mother Nature. Damarion Ashford has spent his entire life doing exactly what was expected of him. As the heir to one of the country's most powerful corporations, every decision has been made for him since childhood. Success. Wealth. Respect. Control. His future is already written-even if it's a life he never truly chose. A chance meeting over dinner should have been forgettable. Instead, one fearless woman with muddy boots, a camera, and a habit of saying exactly what's on her mind begins dismantling the walls Damarion has spent decades building. She lives by one rule: "Do what makes you happy-not what everyone else expects." He doesn't remember the last time he believed that was possible. As tornado season grows more dangerous and their worlds collide, Damarion must decide whether to keep living the life everyone planned for him... or risk everything for the woman who taught him that sometimes the most beautiful things in life are found inside the storm. Because the greatest chase isn't always the one on the radar. Sometimes... It's the one that leads you home.

Every storm leaves something behind. Twenty-three-year-old Skylar Hayes has spent her life running toward the storms everyone else flees. After a deadly tornado claims her veteran storm-chaser father, she vows to prove his final forecast was right-and that his death wasn't the result of reckless chasing. Joining an elite storm-chasing research team known as Tempest One, Skylar crosses Tornado Alley in pursuit of the most violent supercells ever recorded. Alongside brilliant meteorologists, fearless photographers, and emergency responders, she quickly learns that Mother Nature doesn't care about reputations... or second chances. But when an unprecedented weather pattern begins spawning tornadoes with impossible strength, Skylar uncovers evidence that someone is ignoring safety warnings in pursuit of fame and viral footage. Now the race isn't just against the storm. It's against time. With entire towns in the path of destruction, Skylar must decide whether to capture the storm of a lifetime... or sacrifice everything to save the people beneath it. Sometimes the greatest battle isn't surviving the tornado. It's surviving the choices made before it touches the ground.

The eruption of Tonga's underwater volcano, in January 2022, vaporized 150 million tons of seawater and shot a geyser of super heated steam through the stratosphere. The water vapour, a strong greenhouse gas, may increase global temperatures for at least five years. For the past 800,000 years, atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) was about 290 parts per million (ppm). Many people believe the current atmospheric CO2 concentration of 415 ppm is causing global warming. (While commercial greenhouses use 1000 to 1500 ppm of CO2 to optimize plant growth). But . . . there is no correlation between temperature and atmospheric CO2 over the past 500 million years, so CO2 does not appear to directly affect the temperature. And . . . the automatic thermostatic effect of a small increase in cloud cover could offset the effect of greenhouse gases by reflecting more solar radiation back into space. Between 717 and 635 million years ago, the Earth was probably covered in ice and snow. However, between 56 and 34 million years ago the average temperature near the poles was 25°C warmer than it is today. The Little Ice Age devastated harvests in Europe from 1300 to 1850 CE, causing starvation and sickness. Wood was expensive so, in London, England, people began burning coal despite the smoke and dirt. But . . . almost everyone on the planet is five times wealthier than their ancestors. In the past 70 years, the average life span increased from about 40 years to more than 80 and the average world income grew from less than $3 to more than $33 per person per day. This explosive growth in productivity (largely as a result of fossil fuels) was responsible for astonishing improvements in health, education, and longevity. Eliminating fossil fuels will cause massive declines in productivity but the average person is still expected to be four times richer by 2100 CE despite disruptions. When a historic winter storm devastates the Northeast, Severe Weather Forecaster Samantha Turner stands behind the apology no one wants to hear. The forecast failed. The storm exceeded every expectation. And the atmosphere refuses to behave the way it should. As the public begins to recover, Samantha notices something the models can't explain. The cold hasn't relaxed. The pressure hasn't stabilized. And a second storm-one that should not exist-is beginning to organize inside the wreckage of the first. What follows is not a race against time, but a confrontation with uncertainty: how do you warn people when the rules you rely on no longer apply?
