He can fight villains. He can take hits. He can stand in front of explosions without flinching. But when a reporter asks if he has "someone special"? He says nothing. For two years, you loved Tokyo's Number 2 Hero in private. Hidden. Unnamed. Unclaimed. And every time the world calls him an eligible bachelor, he lets them. But when pride collides with vulnerability on a balcony overlooking the city, one cruel word shatters everything. You don't scream. You don't beg. You just realize loving him has started to cost you pieces of yourself. Notes: Inspired by the song "In Another World" by EJAE, as well as a real-life situation from my past. The dialogue in this piece comes from a very real, raw place. (Special thanks to my beta reader for reviewing.)

Growing up I was just trying to be like everyone else, but I was different, an "outcast." I wasn't the only one, that's for sure and there are worse stories than mine, but if sharing my story can inspire others or help them in any way then i'm more than happy to share it. (contains actual memories from my past, names have been changed)

Paisley Roux. She wasn't the type of girl your parents warned you about; she was the type of girl your parents forgot to warn you about. Exclude smoking, drinking, and partying-the typical things you do to be branded as a bad girl. Paisley was far more dangerous than that. She could hurt you with her own broken pieces. She was the embers of fire, the edge of a blade, and the devil's laughter. Paisley's achievements: #2 in BreakingStereotypes #53 in Short Story #1 in Words Hurt (05-19) #73 in short story (05-19)
