When I was 8 years old I found myself becoming more and more interested in books. Every book took me on a new journey; A new story for me to learn life lessons from. I see books as the perfect place for people to practice empathy. The reader can put themselves in the character's shoes and see things from their perspective. It's for this reason that I decided to write a book myself that I feel can change the way people view society. Near the end of the summer before my senior year, I had a dream that inspired me to write a book that I call "Division". My dream took my on a journey where I was able to see the story unfold through each main character's (Addison and terrance) perspective and I was even able to feel what they feel. For this reason, I decided to base my book on empathy and how even though our differences may divide us, we could all come together as one race, the human race, and have empathy for each other if we tried. Division is a story that follows Addison Moore, an orphan boy in the city who tries to find himself in a crazy world.
