I grew up in the West Philly. My family lives in the same house my grandma and grandpa bought in the 60s . You know the area with the same buildings lined up right next to each other with no room to breathe?That's my home. There's no need to go anywhere else, at least that's what Granny likes to tell us. We have everything we need with Larry's shop down the corner, Rashad's barbershop, and Momma's home cooked meals. This is what home looks like. But I didn't intend to stay on Elmwood my whole life. I've finished two semesters of college at Howard University and I decided to go to visit Ma and everybody else. But it's not how I left it. Elmwood ceases to exist.
