Legend has it that there are these 5 journals that are known to hold secrets of the great land of Derishan called The Journals of the Ruins. These 5 journals are said to hold mysteries that could save Derishan. These secrets are more for one to understand unless you're like 17 year old, Kiplin Walberg, who is one of the 5 who can actually understand what they mean. He is the only one who is left who can do so. He thought that no one can ever understand him, except his beautiful best friend, Paisley Trendall. She has been the only one who has ever been there for him. He thought that his life was just as ordinary as any other person who lived in the small, poor town of Trephroll, until one night at the semi-annual village gathering, when his life took a huge turn. When they meet 3 others, 17 year old, Mavac Savor, 16 year old, Anathora Ringland and 14 year old, Tallan Rendever. Although, Mavac and Anathora have a secret of their own, which leaves Kiplin, Paisley and Tallan to run away from them. Mavac and Anathora need Kiplin because without him, the journals won't do anything except be filled with secrets that don't make sense. This is why they have to run, in order to keep Kiplin safe, that's their only choice. If they catch Kiplin, then all of Derishan will go black, and the world would seem like its about to end. This is the reason why they run. Leaving nothing behind but, their lives and keeping their eyes on The Journals of the Ruins.
