New Nabors move into a bank own home. No one ever sees them but the lights stay on day and night. Six months later they're gone, and the house is back up for sale. Something is not right.

Based upon a true story related to me by a friend. She and her then soon-to-be husband were at one point devoted "Tough Mudders", people who travel from one competition to another to push themselves to their physical, mental and emotional limits. They have since found marriage to be all the challenge they really need.

500 word story for the May 26, 2023 weekend write-in prompt - walk

Probably an impossible task; trying to encapsulate a decade in 500 words or less to put context around a novel experience. Candy, a novel by Terry Southern and Max Hoffenberg was the filthiest surprise I ever enjoyed.

Writing is FUN! Just ask a writer. In fact, I bet you have experienced the same level of fun as the protagonist in this short story. Bonus points if you name the movie the quote is from - you'll see what I mean. This piece of flashfic is my story for Weekend-Write-in, a 500-word story with the subject based on "fun."
