But when the school musical comes around, and the theater director is desperate to save his dying career, their acting skills are put to the test. Kai despises his ex, Levana, and to help his father keep his position in the school, he and his friends join the school musical. To his dismay, Levana is going for the lead female role, and he might get the lead male role. Then, after he meets a shy brunette and her friends, things start to change. Will Cinder be the heroine and save the play? Or will Levana poison the performance and destroy all of the happy endings?

Over a year after "Something Old, Something New" from Stars Above, it's the big day. The entirety of the Eastern Common Wealth, and really the whole Earthen Union has gathered in New Bejjing for the wedding of the century. Cinder leaves Luna for the last time while Kai busily directs all guests in his city. Everything is set for the perfect wedding, and the whole Rampion crew is there to celebrate. What could possibly go wrong?
