Magic is real!?! Ayana was a girl who was born unlucky. She was born in a village with strict patriarchy, where girls didn't get to do a lot -including education. Never got the love of her parents, they even beat her. Always bullied by the villagers. But that was until she one day defied the rules. When her big brother took her to the capital ignoring everyone's protest, and admitted her in the biggest academy there, Ayana had no idea what to do. But she realized something. Though it was the biggest academy to exist, no one knew anything about it. She soon found out the reason for that as well. There was magic in the academy. And no one outside of the academy knew the academy existed. Ayana was shocked to find out that even she could do magic. But she couldn't do anything like that before. And then she realized the secret of attaining magic, which everyone called 'urja'. But now Ayana has to navigate her way through this new life, while making friends and keeping up with her academic scores. What will happen when trouble pokes her from everywhere? Description: In the quiet, oppressive village of Eldergrove, women are seen but not heard-expected to clean, obey, and remain in their place. But Rosey Libya refuses to fit that mold. At thirty-two, she wears trousers, speaks her mind, and dreams of working with her hands, not bending under a husband's rule. Her rebellion is dangerous enough. By day, she is the cold marble of the courtroom. By night, she is the fire of an ancient legacy. Kavya Bharadwaj is a woman divided between two worlds: the modern statutes of the law and the blood-soaked traditions of her Mithila roots. Raised in the shadows of the grand Bharadwaj Haveli, she learned early that "Grace" is a mask and "Merciless" is a survival tactic. She doesn't just preside over cases; she carries the weight of a thousand silenced voices in her kohl-rimmed eyes. While the world sees a judge in a black robe, the halls of her home know the girl who finds her sanctuary in the grip of a silver Khadga. Kavya isn't looking for a seat at the table-she's here to break it. She is the one who rewrote fate by judgment, proving that a woman's silence was never a weakness, but a gathering storm.

For thousands of years, we have been living in a society where women have been killed for honour, they have been raped, they have been burned with acid and they have been imprisoned. ____ This book is a collection of articles on woman imprisonment, where I am trying to raise a question. Are we really trying to change the society and giving women their right to love freely, breath freely, and dream freely, as we claim? Are we actually trying to make a society where our mothers, our sisters, our wives and our daughters can live free and independent?

In 1882, Doctor Jane Barber has no shortage of problems. From being scrutinised at work for her gender, judged for her youth, and undermined by society as a whole, shes had quite enough. The Boer War was a traumatic experience on its own, but on top of that, Jane now has to find accommodation in London on her own- as the years she should've spent meeting a man and settling down, she spent in a trench tending to wounds. Detective Inspector Arthur Murphy is in need of a roommate. His last was too whiny, the one before that too loud. Another whistled too much, and a brief encounter with one man's dog was enough for Arthur to evict him immediately. When his sister Ada finally puts her foot down, and finds him a roommate herself. Which is how Arthur comes home one day to find his new roommate: a woman. If the Boer War was explosive, Jane and Arthur sharing a shabby flat in London is practically a world war. Spilled tea, scattered case files, and one meddling doctor who won't stop tidying his desk. Arthur nearly kills Jane. Jane nearly kills Arthur. And no, for the last time, as they have to tell many people, they are not married. | Work In Progress Story | Will become a series once this book is complete | Please vote and comment |
