I graduated in 2012 with a Master of Fine Arts for Writing for Children from Hamline University, where I got to work with folks like Gary Schmidt, Mary Logue, Laura Ruby, Anne Ursu, Swati Avasthi, and Gene Luen Yang, and wrote two books while I was there (technically three), and it was the greatest thing ever for a writer. Are you serious about writing? Well duh, of course you are, you're posting chapters on Wattpad like crazy, and when people talk to you, they catch you in the middle of a paragraph and then they wonder why you're grumpy while you're like DUDE I AM TRYING TO WRITE THIS SCENE. Well, this is my scattershot series of little writing helpful things. (This basically means that I'm racing into this Wattpad book with my eyes shut and actually don't know where I'm starting because the thought of starting is freaking me out as usual, BUT once I get started on this thing I'll be fine.) I'll talk about things that have helped me as a writer -- I don't call 'em rules but suggestions. I'll give you some writing exercises to try for fun. I'll give you writing stuff that the folks at Hamline taught me at the MFA workshops. I'll give you beginner writer stuff and I'll give you advanced writer stuff and wrap it in a big writerly ball. And I'll make it fun. No use in being boring, I mean seriously. And if you have a topic you want me to cover, let me know and I'll cover it for you.

She was a writer, the one who lived in her imaginary world. Her lips do not speak, but her pen does. Her ink filled pages gave lives to fantasy. She dreamed timelessly of the things that can never happen. When the monsters were at bay, she wrote, of things that belonged to another world. ---a collection of poems by muted_crescendo

I'm bleeding.... It's strange! I wasn't cut with a knife, I wasn't shot with a gun, I wasn't hit by a car, I didn't fall off the stairs, Yet I'm bleeding! Why do I keep searching for answers to mysteries that never exists? Why do I always feel like an ill- fitting fabric? Overloud thoughts creeps into my head and drives me in a state of discombobulation, I wish I could hold a fistfight with my dilemma, This situation is far beyond dodgy, I just want to flee! Then again how's it possible for me to run away leaving behind my mind? There's something murky about some people I see, Is this my intuition? Is it a misconception? I try so hard as not to be twee because when I'm simple I become available to be broken, Then again I can't help but be twee and eventually I get disappointed. I'm bleeding but no one can see, I'm in pain apparently only I can feel, A joy I had the world has killed, Step by step I hope I'd heal, A lot of lies people tell about me I wish their lips would seal, I totally feel like an invincible deal.

There's a dark lake inside of every one of us. And if you don't go and visit it once in a while, whatever's down there will come up to find you. Through writing, this author takes the time and patience to visit that lake. Putting her feelings into words. Forming a collection of poetry and prose discussing hopes and dreams. Longing and desire. Loss and heartache. She hopes by expressing her flimsy emotions, you as a reader feel them, too. Showing that you're not alone in feeling. We're all just human.

Our coexistence was beauty incarnate, like a comet racing through infinity. Her intense, bright, astonishing glow of fire and my impregnable, unstoppable, rugged unearthly mineral. To be admired in awe by every organism throughout the galaxy. We were Gods we were, deities. Her the Owl God of the south universe and I the Wolf God of the north. Worshiped by all in contact and in sight. We were envied, threatened and doubted as any God is. Many a men have tired to shed their earthly form and gain a Godlike aura greater than my own to acquire her, yet they fall short hopelessly. I was created a God by her and she created by I. None of earth or any other planet can coexist with such a being as I and her.
