Amazing cover by @KatherineWitherspoon! Loretta's a little stressed out. She's got a dead (murdered?) brother, mentally unstable mom, and an aunt who thinks the best solution is to send Lorrie to her father's friend in Ohio, a (maybe attractive?) Air Force pilot who's feeding off the government's lies. About aliens. Oh, yeah. There are aliens. Forget the Russians and Korea and the terrifyingly unjust way of life of a girl in 1951, Lorrie's in way over her head. It's going to be a crazy summer. Rural Kansas, 1951. Six months ago, fifteen-year-old Loretta's brother died in a tragic accident. Now she struggles to take care of herself and her lost, neglectful mother. After an incident that proves she's no longer up for the task, she's sent to live with her late father's friend. The night before she leaves, she witnesses the unimaginable...aliens. When people brush off her encounter as grief and anxiety, Loretta sets out to prove she isn't the broken girl everyone thinks she is, and that extraterrestrials are more science than science fiction. But her pent-up emotions are rising, and it's only a matter of time before she's forced to face not the truths she wants to find, but she ones she can't accept. When things spiral into the impossible, Loretta learns that appearances are charades, and everyone has secrets as dirty as her own-secrets that, when messed with, may have consequences bigger than life itself.

"Aubrey? Where are you?" I called into the darkness. Didn't hear any sound in return. I felt stranded in my own room. The Room number 12. The room I shared with Aubrey. It was night time. The power went off hours ago. I was dripping in my own sweat after frantic search Aubrey who disappeared through the intersecting door into Room Number 13. Genre: Horror/Mystery 'Sometimes It's Better To Keep Things Untouched' A perfect beach trip. A mesmerising emerald stone. It looked so hypnotic and beautiful. It's just a stone, right? What could go wrong? What John didn't know was that his innocence was just the beginning of their ends. And whom does the whispers belong to that keeps echoing in John's head? Since the day John brought the stone home, eerie and creepy things began happening and even the deaths in his family. Is that all just a coincedence? And whom does the shadow belongs to that John keeps seeing? John, his sister, Hannah, and their friend, Emily, must act fast before the curse gets them. Will they be able to solve the mystery of the curse before it's too late? And who are the mutilated creatures following John around? After surviving an accident which claimed the lives of her beloved parents, Bhairavi's maternal grandmother comes to live with her. But she has already forsaken her voice, her friends, her relationship, her studies, even her laughter. Barely does her grief become bearable when strange things begin to happen. Being a girl of the Twenty-First century, she has seen all superhero and supernatural movies to know that this is unlike any of those scenarios. As her powers become stronger, her perception of reality begins to unravel, all people are not human, and all immortal monsters are not evil, but when it becomes evident that there is something fishy regarding the accident she miraculously survived, Bhairavi takes matters into her own hands. Supported by the unlikeliest allies, she sets out to find the truth. But does the truth always set one free? A fresh, modern take on Hindu mythology. I was challenged to do a story about balloons with no adjectives- here it is! It's not at all that long, but you might feel like you wasted your life reading it. @libertyarose (or whatever my username is now) is not responsible for the loss of anything, including your sanity. You have been warned.
