Lumine witnesses with her own eyes, Xiao, her one true love sacrificing himself to let her and the others return to the surface. Unexpectedly, she finds Zhongli along with Xiao's body right in front of him. He informs her that Xiao's soul is scattered and that the only way to save him from falling into the depths of the underworld, is to obtain the soul-refreshing stone which has the ability to gather and mend a soul. She and Paimon travel back in time to a thousand years ago, where the soul-refreshing stone had remained vital. At the same time, they also encountered a completely different Xiao they haven't known before. However things get complicated when Lumine begins spending time with him while they lessly remained searching for the stone. Will the Traveler find the soul-refreshing stone in time?

This is the story is set after Lumine has travelled to Fontaine. She is returning to Liyue for the Lantern Rite. Lyney and Lynette have been invited to put on a magical performance before the lanterns are released into the night.

Suddenly after Lumine and Paimon went to a fortune teller she ended up in some magic school. Though it was not some new world with new people it seemed to have all her friends from Teyvat just a different universe? Eventually Lumine finds Xiao but something seems odd. Something was odd with everything!
