Rumors begin to circulate around the NFL and when Dave heard, he did some investigating of his own. Unable to handle the mental stress and strain of feeling lied to and betrayed, he begins to subtly sabotage their relationship and it begins to affect their home lives and life on the field. Fed up with the antics after several attempts to rectify the situation in a private manner, Roman creates a paparazzi sh*t storm after confessing to the relationship publicly. Shortly after the storm, Riley receives a call from her brother's best friend and she and Roman rush to her home. Multiple fights ensue before police show up, a gun goes off, an accidental overdose happens and two people are left fighting for their lives. When one doesn't pull through, the entire family is rocked and two professional careers are left to hang in the balance. Riley takes every attempt to make something happen to bring the focus back to football, but after so many failed attempts, she's feeling the pressure of a world of failure around her... and she starts to wonder if this is really the end of life as they all know it.
