Thirty years after espers first appeared, society has reshaped itself around supernatural power. Hydrangea Academy, run by the Esper Association and backed by the government, exists to cultivate the next generation of elite Espers. With state-of-the-art facilities, generous freedom, and limitless resources, it is widely regarded as the ideal school for those chosen to enroll. Within the Academy, students are divided into six classes, ranked from A to F. Class A receives every privilege, while Class F sits at the bottom, overlooked and quietly written off. Yet the hierarchy is not absolute. Through special exams, combat exercises, and large-scale practical trials, lower classes are allowed to challenge higher ones and take their place... by any means the school permits. Lucien Ambrose, a laid-back and unassuming D-rank esper with a strange ability that changes daily, is assigned to Class F. There, he finds himself surrounded not by prodigies, but by the Academy's so-called failures: students whose powers are too weak, too strange, or too absurd to be taken seriously. Among them are Annette, a bookish, sharp-eyed girl whose ability allows her to instantly calculate anything she sees, and Clara, the cheerful class idol who can play instruments without instruments. Nobody expects anything from the misfits of Class F, but the path to the top is open to anyone willing to take it. In a school where every advantage matters and rules can be bent as long as they aren't broken, can the lowest class claw their way upward? Or will they be crushed before they even start?

For ONC 2026, prompt 117. Elena, a struggling citizen with two jobs, is currently trying out a new hobby, painting. However, such an art isn't as easy as the shimmering pixels on her phone suggest. But Elena here is a very hardworking person, and so, she continues practicing her skills (or lack thereof) by painting numerous portraits from either her family or historical ones. One day, after she punches a hole through another one of her failed paintings, she storms off from her studio. To her surprise, a pale and uneasy stranger stands in her path, one devoid of any facial features. A being that is barely keeping itself together. It, naturally, asks for a portrait.

I can't be bothered to write a real description because I did, but Wattpad erased it when I published it for what ever reason, and I'm being butt-hurt, and refusing to rewrite the amazing, beautiful, original description because any others would pale in comparison.

Those were my issues. I don't look normal. But I don't look sick. I look weird. But nobody can diagnose me. The only symptom that can be put with a disorder is the fact that I hear voices, the doctors think I have some kind of schizophrenia. But they cannot detect a physical illness. Isn’t it insane that in the year 2065, in the city of neon lights, nobody can determine what is wrong with you? Actually no, there are still a lot of things we don’t understand.
