This song is about a girl named Mene. Mene is unhappy with her average grades. When Mene sees her classmate Miya get perfect grades seemingly without trying, she thinks that this type of perfection is abnormal and tries to become more like her. Mene tries to act more like Miya and tries even harder to become "Abnormal", and gets to the point of envy where she falls in love Miya, realizing it during the dream sequence. But then Mene realizes that she'll never be with/like Miya. Mene finally snaps, and becomes a butterfly, a metaphor in the song for committing suicide. Her death is reflected earlier on in the PV where a vase of flowers is sitting on her desk, a common tradition in Japan when a student has passed away.
