Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental disability that affects around 1 in 59 people. Every autistic person is different. Most autistic people typically experience some or all of the common autistic traits, which include developmental delays, difficulty mind-reading, sensory issues, need for routine, stimming, and difficulty understanding and coping with emotions. As an autistic person myself, I decided to write what I think it would be like to be an autistic person in the world of X-men, and explore how I think the characters would perceive them. So this will be set during First Class, but the reader insert will be on the autism spectrum. I apologise in advance for any inaccuracies but this will be based on my own personal experiences. I have too many words and not enough time to write them all down. Honestly though? I'm just trying to create more and I think this is a good way to try and do it. I'm putting up almost all my poetry on here bit by bit, the good and the bad. Hope you enjoy :)
