North vs. South, Free State vs. Slave State, State Governments vs. Federal Government. For a country with the name United, America was anything but united. The states still stuck together, though. That is until December 20, 1860. The bloodiest fight the Union has ever had is about to begin. Thirteen Colonies is growing up, and some things just don't seem RIGHT. He needs to do something about it, he thinks, but what? ==== A coming-of-age story for the countryhuman USA. Filled with rebellion, heartache, and victory. ==== "Fortunes won by the boys with their guns We are alone, nowhere to run Bernadette, you are my liberty I celebrate the day That you changed my history Of life and death Will always lead you into love and regret But you have answers and I have the key For the door to Bernadette" ==== Disclaimer!!!: Please be aware that the countries/nations/etc. used here aren't meant to be accurate to their real life counterparts in the slightest. While a lot of things from the real world are used as a baseline for points in this story, a lot of things here are biased/stereotypical/innacurate/and etc. (though nothing here is supposed to be racially insensitive, inspire hate, etc.; if there is something like that I've put here accidentally, please tell me so I can fix the issue and apologize.) Additionally, many countries here are made to look better than they are in real life for creative purposes (it's hard to write a character off of a country accurately and still make the character likeable). Finally, I will be doing my very best to avoid sensetive/recent topics. If you feel something is innappropriate, please tell me so I can fix the issue.

The sky was an impossible shade of blue. Birds called cheerfully in the distance, wind rustled through the rows of orange trees growing outside, and the giddy laughter of children echoed throughout the neighborhood. Feet tapping against the pavement, rocks skittering underneath the soles of my shoes, I rounded the driveway and opened up the mailbox. The metal was smooth and cool underneath my palm, and I became momentarily distracted as my ears caught the sound of music playing faintly through our open window. There was only one letter inside, addressed to me. I hooked my thumb underneath the thin flap that held it shut and ripped it open, pulling the sheet of paper out with a cheerful flourish. "𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐓𝐨𝐦 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐬. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐲 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬." My heart dropped. It was a draft. - The year is 1967, and overseas, the Vietnam War is raging with a deafening fury, ripping American men out of their homes and hurling them into the harsh, unforgiving Vietnamese jungle. Tom Descartes, a 22 year old south Pennsylvanian baker, is thrust into life in the army, sent unsure and untrained into a task force of six other men saddled with a crucial task. Their mission? Dodge enemy fire, sneak through the country, and deliver essential military plans set to arrive in the war-ravaged city of Huē, plans that just might win the battle. Throughout all the chaos, Tom has to trek through the jungle, hide a budding romance with his fellow soldier, and live to once again rejoin a life without fear. Every day may be his last. - WARNING! This book contains strong profanity, graphic violence, alcoholism, and surprise surprise, themes of war.

Ah yes, the American Dream. The promise that anybody, regardless of background, can come to the United States and work to become anything they want to be. Too bad America himself has to get his act together before even thinking of that dream. (Can also be found on Fanfiction.net!)

Everyone's creating fan clubs these days, so I decided to create one. This is mostly about the American Revolution surrounded by Hamilton. But I'll most likely go and do events not relating to Hamilton as well. Another beautiful world to go to when the fandom goes crazy.

Set against the sprawling, untamed landscapes of the American West, The Long Trail follows a mismatched group of pioneers and outcasts on a perilous wagon train journey to California. Among them are Perry, a bookish runaway with a broken moral compass; Nelly, a fierce, independent teen grappling with her traumatic past; and Samson, a grizzled mountain man haunted by the ghosts of his failures. Together, they must navigate not only treacherous terrain but their own demons, as they battle bandits, harsh elements, and the unyielding pressures of survival. As the group pushes westward, bonds are forged and fractured amidst the crucible of the trail. Perry learns the cost of lies and the value of redemption under Samson's reluctant mentorship, while Nelly fights to earn respect in a world that constantly underestimates her. Seth, a hesitant young leader, struggles to unite a fractious community and prove his worth to a demanding father. When betrayal and a devastating blizzard threaten to destroy everything, the travelers must rely on newfound courage and trust to reach their destination-or risk being consumed by the wilderness and their own failings. Rooted in historical detail and rich with emotional depth, The Long Trail is an epic tale of survival, sacrifice, and self-discovery, where every mile tests the limits of humanity, and every step forward is a step into the unknown.

Hope finally has escaped Colonel Tavington and has now been reunited with Gabriel and Benjamin. She's traveling through South Carolina and beyond as the war rages on, fighting with Benjamin's men in a war that has grown bloodier, dirtier, and larger than before. As Hope settles in with the men, however, she can't dodge the discrimination against her for not only being a female, but of mixed races. But she soon proves she's better than most when it comes to combat, having traded in her dresses for riding boots and trousers. Colonel Tavington has lost Hope, the first woman to have actually made him question his actions. But as the war progresses, Tavington lives up to his name 'The Butcher' as he soon becomes a master of torture to get answers of his Ghost's whereabouts, not knowing they were one in the same when it came to where Hope was. But when Hope falls back into William's arms once again, their everlasting emotions cause them to question their participation in battle. Can Hope prove worthy alongside Benjamin and fight for the country she loves with the South Carolina Militia under Benjamin's command, or will Hope and William's one mistake cost Benjamin's the war, jeopardizing their love, and cost her her life? It's all out war in Colonial America, and there is no such thing as a secret as death comes to those they love and the losses become more than unbearable. *** Make Sure To Read Part 1! ***

This is a story that I had to write in History based on a writing prompt. It turned into an angsty mess and I apologize for any confusion that may result from this. The prompt was to write 1 page of a story from the point of view of either a wounded veteran returning home from the American Civil War, a planter whose plantation was destroyed, or a freed slave acquiring help from the Freedman's Bureau. I chose the first one. Warning: blood and gore mention, early PTSD signs, combat descriptions, graphic descriptions of injuries and violence Let me know if you guys want to see this turned into a full 3-part story

In an alternate history where a young white man named Daniel Mitchell intervenes at the Lorraine Motel on April 4, 1968, and stops James Earl Ray from assassinating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the trajectory of the Civil Rights Movement is irrevocably altered. Daniel, once an observer of history, is thrust into the center of the struggle for equality, working alongside Dr. King and other key figures to maintain the vision of nonviolent resistance in a country growing increasingly divided. As tensions rise and the movement faces new challenges, Daniel must navigate his own internal conflicts and the mounting pressure to take more drastic actions. The Heart of the Storm explores the intersection of personal choice, moral conviction, and the evolution of history, as one man's intervention changes the course of a nation's future forever.

Refute the historical fabrications that served to help usher in an era of colonization. Dismantle the ideological standpoints held and weaponized by the ones who saw us for the first time and allowed their greed to dictate their actions. We are human beings. And we remember the past. It is time to acknowledge these acts of terrible shame so that the cycles of pain and torment can begin to cease.

I am not a professional historian, nor am I a professional author. I am just a student who is interested in the life and times of John Laurens and the American Revolutionary war. This is a book that I am writing for fun, with the hope that I can help some people get a rough idea of the life of this great soldier, and maybe even spark someone's interest in this time period. If you are looking for a detailed biography by a professional, I would recommend 'John Laurens and the American Revolution' by Gregory D. Massey.
