I woke up in a place where the ground beneath me seems sinky and a bit shapeless. Goldie, the only other person over here, doesn't seem to be of much help and has the body physics of a wet noodle. This place is pretty charming though, so I don't dislike it. Anyway, the rules here, if any, are annoyingly vague and after a lot of thinking, I've come to the conclusion that this is some sort of an academy type thing where I need to pass some test to 'float'. Goldie claims she makes people float, I mean, she implied it. So I'm assuming that's her job and once I'm qualified, I'll help out with that too. But this place freaks me out a little, and for good reason. There's this mouth, like a literal mouth, which eats me up and spits me out into someone else's life. Afterwards, I get floaty but sometimes I get heavier. If you think I'm speaking like a toddler with all the 'floaty' and 'sinky' talk, then you've got Goldie to blame. I'm just borrowing her words. From what Goldie tells me, sinking does not seem like something I want to do, but the lives I live while in the mouth are just ... hard to leave behind. And if I'm being honest, it's a little addictive to use the mouth. There are others here too, and as I travel around with Goldie I sometimes come into contact with them. From what I've heard, not all of them are safe, some of them are predatory; bad apples that want you to sink. I'll have to figure out who I am and what this place is so I can survive till I can float.
