It is a poem about a stray dog who a man takes care of but then due to a misunderstanding, he abandons her and when he learns the truth, he feels deep regret and remorse for his actions towards an innocent creature. It is about how animals can be misunderstood since we cannot understand each other but usually animals are not at fault and they too have a reason for doing things.
