Cordelia vane just moved to Avonlea. Cordelia is the shadow to Anne Shirley's sun. While Anne arrived in Avonlea with a suitcase full of big words and even bigger dreams, Cordelia arrives with nothing but a heavy silence and a guarded heart. Cordelia didn't grow up in an asylum; she grew up on the docks of Halifax. Her father was a disgraced sailor who taught her how to read the stars before he vanished at sea, leaving her to fend for herself in a world that has no place for a girl alone. She has learned that "hope" is a dangerous thing. She is practical, sharp-tongued when she does speak, and deeply suspicious of the "kindness" of the people in Avonlea. She is sent to Avonlea to work as a scullery maid for a family that is much less welcoming than the Cuthberts. What will happen when she meets Gilbert Blythe?

Ella, the girl, was never too keen about new places. She had friends in charlottetown and that was good enough. But she is forced to move there. Ink between us is a slow burn still in the making. Lucile is the narrator of the story; she just left her home in England behind and moved to Avonlea, a beautiful small village in Canada. Although it was easy for her to connect with Anne, Ruby and the other girls seem to not like her that much after a certain inconvenience with a surety someone: Gilbert Blythe, who has since then not once stopped to make her life more confusing. Author's note: I got absolutely great ideas for the following story of this fanfic, but since this is an early draft and the story is not entirely written yet, some certain parts still need some work. I will need to rewrite some parts, but I will make sure it won't change the contents of this story too much. Enjoy reading.
