This book is about a young girl without a very close relationship with her mother. That in 7th grade is being bullied. So she finds a mentor/mother figure to her that shows her the ropes of life.

The darkest life doesn't exist, but it almost can be reached. The life I wish I had will never exist. When the closest to love you have is the hug your mom gives you at night, life gets dim. Hiding in the shadows is much easier than facing the world. They laugh and point at my science project like being smart is a bad thing. I don't get it. Why is life like this. The new world is the bad world, but the old world is gone. A shadow that I wish I could chase but as time goes on it becomes faint. The small wisp of good is disappearing. Is there someone out there that can light the darkness. Bring me out of the shadows.

Hi, my name is Song.... I know. Its really weird. I dont know why thats my name.. It just is but the other Kids in the Orphanage use it as a way to pick on me. I dont care though. They can do what they want. My biggest dream (like everyone elses here) is to be adopted. To have somebody to love me. But I think I drew the short end of the stick when I was born. Or so I thought.

Scully and Mulder were teens that were teased for there ance and found a friend in an alien name starface. This is what got them into wanting to know what was out there in the beginning but this is what starface did to help them with their acne and their self-esteem. They figure out where starface comes from and soon the rest is history and the acne is gone but what happens when their friend ends up on the autopsy table when in area 51.
