Being Indian American feels like living in a pressure cooker wrapped in a smile. You're told to be perfect, productive, palatable - never loud, never intimidating. But travel to India, and you'll meet folks who are bold, stylish, confident, and unapologetically gangsta. DEAR DIASPORA, YOU'RE NOT THE MAIN CHARACTER is a sharp, personal callout - not to India, but to the suffocating performance of "representation," perfectionism and intraracial competition that dominates Desi life in the West. This isn't a sob story - it's a truth bomb. A cultural essay that demands real freedom, not filtered branding. If you're ready to sip some realness, break free from the cage of expectations, and find your max pro aura - this is for you. πŸ‹ Bold. Tart. Sweet. Unfiltered. πŸ‹ Just like a glass of limeade on a hot day.

What would the world be if they didn't see color? It would be a kind, loving and perfect world. I believe that people of mixed races should be more accepted for who they are and not be judged because they are mixed. Who are you, and where are you from? I am a dandelion blowing in the wind, going with the flow of life. I am from reading books that don't always have happy endings. I am from taking forever to do my natural hair to make it look decent for society. I am from my parent's endless support and love. I am an overthinker who lets my thoughts run my mind. I am from trying my best and never seeing any progress. I am from a family that loves to spend time together. I am from learning the mistakes I've made. Having the knowledge of this changed the aspect of my identity at a young age. My identity does not mean my exterior appearance, yet aims towards my interior self. As a human being, the traits that you have should test how you appear in life, not your race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, how you look, or even your gender. I think it is sad that people's mindsets are the reason why there is so much hate in the world. When will it end? I do not know. It is as if people have an illness. Their mind has a disease that has spread uncontrollably. The deadly disease is called racism, and the cure is a combination of love and respect for others.

It all begins with a ridiculous lie. ... Kalon's life is technically a bed of roses, except for the fact that all the rose petals are withered out and it's just the thorns that remain. Nonetheless, when she meets a certain stranger, spiral out of control as one lie leads to a serious domino effect.

Trigger warnings - there are heavy themes of ICE, violence and discrimination. During one of my seminars at uni I was asked to write a poem about something that makes me angry, and I chose everything that's going on in the world right now (politically). Not only does it make me feel but I hope it personally affects me too. It's a very long, strong and powerfully emotional poem that should tug at any humane person's heart. Every time I read it in my head or allowed I need to take multiple breaths, stutter and often feel the need or do cry. Because this is genuinely how I feel. So if you care about what is going on in the world, especially in the US and UK please give my poem a read I really appreciate it.

I wonder why people feel like they have the right to ask me about my personal life. I don't know how many times a day I am asked, "Who are you? Where are you from? What are you mixed with?" My replies to those people are, "Why do you care where I'm from? It is your business to know what I am mixed with? How dare you overstep your boundaries and violate my space? Society judges my skin color, my hair, and my exotic features. It does not accept me for being who I am. I often hear, "You are too light to be black" or "You are too dark to be white." They size me up with their eyes of hate as if I asked for their opinion. I don't owe you an explanation. I am not on trial because of my background. I didn't choose my race. I did not ask to be here -- but I am here. I am not ashamed of who I am. You asked me, "Who am I?" The real question is, why are you obsessed with my race? Why is it any of your concern? I am Stella. I am 16 years old, and I am proud of who I am! I am biracial, and I am a human being just like you.

Abi is a doctor working for the London Wellbeck Hospital near Oxford street station. A disaster destroys the lives of thousands and society's acceptance and structure crumbles, racism covers the streets and hides us from the rest of the world. Difference becomes less accepted and it's no longer possible to live without fear. Although some remain in the opinion that multiculturalism should be celebrated groups throughout the UK stampede the country with white power knocking down anyone who dares to stand in their way. Inspired by the 7/11 bombings, the Paris bombings, the Brexit campaign, the London riots of 2011, the Syrian refugee crisis, the orlando nightclub shooting and the Saudi Arabia prophets mosque bombing.
