#84 in rank for Inspirational (May 30,2021) One time, a first year college student was asked by her acquaintance. "What course did you take up for your college?" The girl replied, " Maestra lang." And BOOM, my ears heat up as she answered the question. How dare she is for accompanying the word "Maestra" with "lang". JUST a Teacher? Really? Does she know the hardships and sacrifices our teachers has to take just to be in their positions? Spending an average of 8 hours at school and as they went home, their role of being a teacher won't just end. At home, they still make reports, At home, they still compute grades, At home, they still do their lesson planning. Thus, no one should dare to accompany teaching as a profession with "Maestra Lang!" ------------------------------------------------------------ This poem is dedicated to all the teachers and aspiring reachers out there. You all deserve to be respected and appreciated. A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE. They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE. The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him.
