TITLE CHANGE: (previously titled My Life Hanging by a Thread) Sage Greene just got married to Josiah Miller. They're on their honeymoon in Rio de Janero, Brazil. And ready to begin the next chapter of their lives together. Will their vows be broken before their life together even has a chance to get started? Or maybe their life together will get started. The question is whether it's: for sickness or health, for rich or poor, for better of worse, till death do they part?

#Wattys2016 u·to·pi·a yo͞oˈtōpēə/ noun an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect. The word was first used in the book Utopia (1516) by Sir Thomas More. _____________________________________ dys·to·pi·a disˈtōpēə/ noun noun: dystopia; plural noun: dystopias an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one. _____________________________________ Perfection is unachievable. We should know that, but of course nobody taught us. If they did then it's doubtful their message would have gotten through. Humans are a thick, stubborn race. Granted we learn from our mistakes--I'll give us that much--but not before we make them. The dictionary says that utopia is an 'imagined place or state of being'. That means it can't be obtained, which only makes humanity strive for it even more. The dictionary also says that dystopia is imaginary, but it is my belief that this is easier to gain than utopia. Repugnance is almost always more common than beauty. I cannot begin to express my disgust for mankind's attraction to outward beauty. The world itself is an epitome of the ideology doctrine; it appears alluring on the surface, but if you dig a little deeper you can see the angry, writhing mass of tar boiling just under a cheap facade. The world is as ugly as it is pretty, but people were made to look for only the appealing side of nature. Humans themselves are made up of that hazy gray area between light and dark. We are not pure, but we are not tainted. We are a dirty slate messily wiped clean by the shaking hands of God. --Chapter Zero: Utopia, Dystopia

"I'm not who you think I am," I whispered, shaking my head and backing against the wall. He just didn't understand! He is making this harder than it is supposed to be, his infamous stubbornness and ego getting in the way. His eyes bore themselves into mine and he gently placed is hands on my hips, resting his forehead against mine. "I know," he whispered back leaning in further, his lips just inches away from mine. "That's why I want you."

In the name of making everyone equal and to prevent what happened with our ancestors, we have created what will be known as the Founding Laws. 1. No markings or piercings are permitted. Every citizen will be issued the same clothing with the allowance of one fancy outfit. 2. Every family will have two children: one girl and one boy. The population must remain constant until our world has recovered. 3. Marriage is required for every young person by age 30. There will be no marriages permitted between two citizens more than two years apart in age. 4. Constant pay will be issued for every working citizen. The cost of living will not increase more than 0.3%. 5. At birth, every citizen is required to receive a vaccine. This will prevent disease and early death. Failure to comply will result in death. Therefore, in this new world we are living in, we seek to make everyone equal, which will lead to happiness, which will allow us a healthier population. From the Ashes, We Rise.
