A short mini-story from Rigby Raines (the main character of Just Rigby - A Marching Band Story). Rigby recalls how her best friend made her Halloween a bright spot in the midst of a depressing year (after losing her mother to cancer).

He loved him from a far, not knowing if he would ever turn to look at him.

Families are torn apart and damaged. Between the parents it starts as passive aggressive silences. Between the children, it's afraid silence. The families have no choice but to live with the hidden pain.

Yes my first year of high school. What could possibly happen. At least that's what I thought. Until, that is, until I met him. Meet Rosalyn a marching band nerd that has decided that she will be completely single forever. That is until she meets him, Jonah, the kid in her section. Sadly section rule: don't date within the section. What happens between the two and how long before someone changes the rules?

I don't usually like my writing but there's something about 1 in the morning that seems to inspire me and get my creative juices flowing.
