Emily stayed with her team and felt maybe she could be back with her own team again, they both knew that since she got back, she couldn't grasp her old life back. When The Replicator came to New York and killed Strauss, Emily offered her help and it caused the team to figure out that Emily and Hotch were in a pretty serious relationship with each other. They all had mixed feelings about it, but didn't have it jeopardize their focus on catching the person who killed someone on their team. After that, they continue their lives after everything happened to see how much further they could keep their relationship from falling apart. More cases to be solved and possibly a new member joining the BAU family that Aaron and Emily can't believe.
