We visit Cousins Beach each summer, but this year felt different; something was going on, but I couldn't figure out what.

Taylor and Steven have been dating for one year and are constantly together so we probably won't see them and I don't know how to really fit them into the story right if you have any suggestions I woukd love to hear them. Her mom Kathrine (Katie) died when she was five from a brain tumor. Then her dad died in a car accident on December the 4th, when she was nine. Her mom, Susannah and Laurel have been friends since college. Her dad had dropped her off at Susannah's beach house every summer since her mom died, so she could be close to people her mom knew. Then soon after her dad passed Laurel took her in and she lived with Belly and Steven for 5 years. I'm going to use Belly's birthday from the book becausemy birthday is also at the end of August (the 29th), but one year before, so she's 15. Now let's begin the story.
