This is a memoir I wrote. What started as a culminating assignment in my creative writing class, turned into something more big and beautiful than I would've ever imagined it to be. I'm so beyond grateful for the positive feedback, support and recognition from the community on TikTok and after receiving multiple requests for me to publish the full thing online, I have decided to do just that. I am only 18, and my journey into adulthood has only just begun, but that doesn't mean that my life leading up to this hasn't been hard and difficult. I hope that the people reading this memoir feel some sort of inspiration and connection. Enjoy.

Hi everyone, my name is Miranda. I live in the USA in Mexico with my brother Jayden and father James. To be honest, I'd rather live in a real city in Florida, for example. I go to high school and I'm 15 years old with my father, I don't understand much since my mother died, it's been a year. I know it's not to blame, but it's like I'm a stone.
