This book contains Black Widow spoilers! When the Avengers are sent on a mission to save Maria Hill from the hands of HYDRA, they don't expect to be faced with a teenage girl who has been enhanced. However, Natasha Romanoff recognises this girl from a past she is desperate to forget.

Alexandra Tarasova is dead. In fact, she's been dead for over two decades. She died right as her mother was transported away by the bad people. She died a few seconds before her sisters were forced into sleep and forcefully brought to the Red Room. She died in front of their very eyes. Natasha saw it. It was the last thing she witnessed before the drugs pulled her under, and it engrained so deep in her eyelids sometimes she still sees it as clearly as when she was eleven. Alexandra Tarasova is dead. So why is she standing in the middle of the Red Room's wreckage?
