It's about love and loss, anger and forgiveness, identity and self-discovery, and the words we carry with us-even when we wish we could forget them. Black writers of Wattpad! I love the talent that so many of you display. The heart, humor, tragedy, and innovative news of your stories. Our stories. However, if you write on here at all, you know how difficult it can be to get your stories noticed and off the ground. Sometimes waiting for the one comment of upvote feels like waiting for a drop of rain in the desert. That in mind, I want to open a space for us to come together as a community. o relate to each other, uplift our stories, and share them. Living in Angola, Africa, 18-year-old Brackston Jenning's life is suddenly turned upside down. His father receives a letter from the American Embassy stating they have an opening for a job in his father's profession. Shy, Brackston is excited about the move because it means his family will be able to make more money. Yet, it plagues him horribly because he has to completely uproot everything, everyone, and the only thing he knows and loves. Carnise Harris has always been dark skinned, yet has always been very comfortable in her own body and doesn't allow the people who believe her dark skin is an imperfection to get her down. She is strong and independent. Unlike Carnise, the light-skinned Mizett gets more attention. Carnise doesn't care about attention; she just wants to be successful. However, things begin to come to an abrupt end when Mizzy and Nisey's mother tries to come back into their lives.

"I love you for who you are not for your looks" he said. "you sure about that, because that's what they all say!" I yelled. then instantly his soft lips pressed against mine and his kiss cleared my mind in seconds. I cant believe I'm falling for this guy, he's just like the rest of them. They must think all black girls will fall for nigga by a kiss well guess what, I'm not that black hoe!! (periodt) (reality TV)

I don't write stories. My work is more of a poem inspired style. Just something for melanin appreciation.

Lately I've noticed the whole Team Light skin vs. Team Dark skin thing is getting out of hand. I wanted to say a few things about how ridiculous I think the whole thing is. This is just my opinion it's not necessarily right, nor is it wrong. I just want all people to celebrate their beauty and for others to stop finding ways to slyly incorporate ways to discriminate into our lives. I just want anybody reading it to know they need to embrace their beauty and their looks don't define that. This is directed towards Black girls, but even if you're white,Indian,Hispanic,Korean,Chinese,or any other race (that I'm too lazy to include xD I love you thooo) I want you to know you are beautiful and amazing and you should never tell yourself or any other person differently.

Life was sure simple here in Nigeria. Yeah, of course that's an untrue. What I mean is that at least following my daily routine was sure simple, apart from that, life's never easy. ---------------- What happens when Chiamaka Oyinlola Anthony a typical black Nigerian girl wins a scholarship to NY to further her studies. Making it her priority to study till she makes it, would she be able to do so when the school's bad boy has his eyes on her? What happens when she's been bullied by her peers and everyone seems to hate her for who she is? Can she still keep her confidence, boldness and not listen to her haters? What if she doesn't keep her promise to her mom? Bentley Frazier, the baddest boy known in Cambridge-Valley High has his eyes on Chiamaka due to a strange reason no one seems to know of... Is it bad? Good? What does he wants with her and why? Secrets, jealousy, hatred, betrayal, love, regrets, accomplishments, and many more all filled in one journey. Can Chiamaka survive her senior year of high school in NY or she'll rather be back home in Nigeria?
