UPDATED 2-3 TIMES PER WEEK (written for school so I have deadlines to meet) This is an ongoing work in its first draft, minor grammatical errors may appear, but should never take away from the experience. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Most people, and I'd only noticed this then, stared at Brooke. Most people of the future thought it weird to befriend an A.I.. I was fine with it and embraced it." Katsumi Morita, a 16-year-old girl from Japan, is mistakenly abducted one day, taken to the future. The only issue is, law won't let her leave now that she's here. In this contemporary sci-fi mystery, the Morita family experiences the future before there very eyes, finding out that the future might not be the haven people make it out to be. Reality is always worse than the dream, no matter how nice it seems. From cloning to holograms, 2209 takes the cake as the best horror Katsumi can imagine. Dig deep and you'll find the dirt on anybody. All rights reserved ©Judy Finch 2020

"Dégagez du chemin!" Je percute une forme jaunâtre et tombe. Je me relève aussitôt et grimace quand je vois la trompe hideuse qui lui sert de bouche baver. Il commence à m'insulter mais je repars sans l'écouter, poursuivant ma course.

(Now a featured Wattpad story, made it to 6 on the hot list!) *** This story is a mix of Nier: Automata, Do Androids Dream of Electric sheep, and what I thought Saturn's Children would be until I got to the half-way point. Updates are: Monday: New Chapter Wednesday: Poem (thoughts of featured character in the chapter) or Data File (extended info of elements brought up in previous chapter. Friday: New Chapter (usually try to end these with cliffhangers ;D) I haven't failed with this update schedule yet so don't worry! Keep reading and you'll have material to read for months to come! I value everyone's feedback so please vote and comment your thoughts on the themes and characters as I introduce them :)

2036. Los Angeles. Everything is run by neon, krypton, argon and xenon. In 1973 Thomas Run discovered the true potential of these elements (now dubbed "The Run Elements") and in 1980 most of the world was run by these elements. Soon major cities such as New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles were run by Run Elements. Today, in 2036, Run Elements control everything from cars to guns to the things keeping Thomas Run alive. //This will be a 4 part series including the story of Leon Harbringer going from Los Angeles to San Fransisco in a run in with not only the law but the very forces of the very one that runs everything//

Sequel to Hacking the Sun. [Updated every Tuesday]. In 2130, the world is still reeling from the collapse of the largest corporation. A recent crime wave has rattled the denizens of the old sprawl. Meanwhile, in the Union, terrorism is on the rise. Desperate for answers, shadow agents look to Jessica Leibzin, the Lynx, to search for clues and find those responsible. Another conspiracy, however, has seemingly taken root. To combat a hacker, you need another hacker. Unfortunately, they are a dime a dozen, and Jess has to navigate new circles of the underworld to quell the growing friction between aliens and humans. This time around, she's going to need more than a gravity board and forbidden AI. Surrounded by enemies on all sides, she's thrust headfirst into the fires of cyberspace and reality. Unbeknownst, the greatest threat doesn't lurk in the shadows or around the corner. It comes from the sky.

Virtual Reality is Out of Control...'Let me remember the dream again for a moment. Let me hold it in my mind. For with everything it has become - a shadowy reflection, a hollow advertisement - it is getting easier and easier to forget. And lately, many of its shadows have been haunting me. The shadows of paths never taken in the woods. I do not know the precise point that the dream of the Spiral began to diverge from what it once was...' ...Welcome to a free, short Virtual Web sci-fi story that explores ideas about a futuristic, immersive Gameworld influencing all levels of society...with emergent defects... NOTE: This is a fairly challenging, 'background' story with an emphasis on ideas. It will relate to some more accessible stories to follow... including, hopefully, a novel. If you're interested in writing about 'The Spiral' then search 'Fountellion' for the Medium publication. Fans of TRON, 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' by George Orwell, and 'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley, may appreciate similar themes. Please comment with your impressions or feedback on the themes and content of the story... Best wishes, and 'Progression'! Reactive Co-Narration of a Blade Runner 2049 Side Story-A Descent Into the Quiet Corners of the City's Broken Souls. Experience Blade Runner 2049 from a place the film never lingers: the forgotten spaces between its neon lights, where the city keeps its wounded and the world keeps its secrets. This parallel narrative follows Ushi, a young factory worker trying to hold himself together in a city built to grind people down. One bad cut, one malfunctioning companion, one desperate night... and he's pulled into a chain of events that exposes something he was never meant to see: A locked door. A whisper that should be impossible. And a glitching emotional-navigation AI that might be the only thing in his life that refuses to abandon him. Through adaptive, reactive co-narration and immersive background-character roleplay, this story explores: the fragility of identity addiction and survival in a world without mercy loneliness in a crowd of millions the thin line between artificial memory and lived experience and whether even the smallest light can matter in a place built from darkness A raw, intimate companion story that walks beside Blade Runner 2049-never touching its plot, but echoing its heartbeat in the life of someone the city never noticed. --- I will be posting this story on Royal Road ---

[Highest Ranking #49 in Science Fiction] Jessica Leibniz tried being a normal teenager, but unlike most teenagers, she can tell time without a clock. She still wears a watch, but it comes with incriminating A.I. software. It's part of her fashion sense-if you call a mix of 80's nostalgia, geekism, and jagged hair a fashion sense. Otherwise, you have a normal, nineteen-year-old girl who delivers pizza and tacos by day and hacks cybersecurity networks by night. All the while, she turns heads, probably because she performs her job on a gravity board, which is relatively unorthodox in a future where aliens rule the planet. The alien takeover could have ended more violently, but there's irony in how efficient and peaceful Earth has become a hundred years later. Corporations still reign supreme, but aliens lie at the top of the social ladder. Azareans they call them, overlords who've constructed a new kind of city for the modern world. The Eden: a modern megapolis. Accustomed to life in the modern city, Jessica has learned to embrace challenge when it comes her way. Without a cause, she confides in her three friends or smacks into boredom. And when she seamlessly cracks an uncrackable corporate security algorithm, nothing makes sense. Faced with world-turning revelations, the life she's led seems trivial next to a hundred-year lie and tragedy.
