This is the first novel of the Dexter franchise, which released a series of the character also. Dexter is a person who works as a forensics analyst in blood spatter for the police department; and secretly he kills people who have done bad deeds before. So when dead bodies start to appear in the city of Miami, Dexter has to find the person responsible for this atrocity.

This is the sequel of the Dexter franchise, released in 2010, where the forensic investigator/killer becomes a father to his baby girl, Lily Rose. So Dexter tries to ignore his dark tendencies, but a new murder happens, where the protagonist and his cop sister Deborah have to look up for a group of alleged cannibals.

This is the third book of the Dexter franchise released in 2007 and written by american author Jeff Lindsay. In this sequel, Dexter is about to marry Rita, her fiancé. Also, the Dark Passenger, who helps out Dexter in the cases of homicide, leaves him alone, when Dexter goes to a university and sees two headless charred bodieson campus. So Dexter has to nurture Rita's two kids and also find a powerful foe in the process.
