[Modern AU] Mike Wheeler was never good with feelings. Will was, but he was too scared to ever say anything. When Will gets a new job at the quaint little flower shop in Hawkins, him and Mike's relationship takes a weird turn. Power outages could be a good thing, apparently.

Let's get straight to the point, Willow is in love with Michelle, but Michelle is dating Willows brother, so she is now shutting Willow out. Willow doesn't know what to do anymore what will she do?

In1988, Will Byers gets a place in an university he had always been dreaming of, Yale. There he finds out he shares a dorm with a boy named Mike wheeler. They become good friends. Soon Will realizes that his feelings for Mike are getting deeper, the same way they did before with other guys too. Will tries so hard to ignore those feelings, like he always did. But soon they are too much and he realizes that with Mike he feels different type of feelings than with the boys in his high school. Will he tell Mike about these feelings and how will the other boy react?

"And it doesn't really change anything between us, right? We're still a team. Friends." He explained, though that word left a sour taste in his mouth. Friends. Friends with someone you've basically been in love with all your life. Oh, who was he kidding? That was probably the best he was gonna get, anyway. Don't get so greedy, Will. He told himself, but it still felt wrong. A beat passes. Mike shoots him a look he can't really describe. Like he's... unsatisfied? "No, not friends." Mike stares down, avoiding Will's gaze. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- this is fanfiction, i don't own stranger things in any way. The show belongs to the duffer brothers and netflix i guess. this story is only somewhat original, it's just an alternative ending to what we saw, so of course, not everything is mine. this has a good ending, i swear on dustin's mother. a rewrite of the interaction at the tower ("Friends? No thanks. Best friends."), and maybe the whole finale, too. because if denial's a river in egypt, well then i'm moving there for life.

I wrote this before the finale aired and it captures my prediction of what I think will happen in the scene that sets Mike and Will up for a Byler endgame! If I'm right, I cooked here. If I am wrong, I still think it should have happened this way and you can't change my mind! Enjoy....

everything had gone back to normal in hawkins, indiana when eleven had closed the gate a year prior. she also got what she'd always wanted, to date mike wheeler. things seemed great, until will felt the mind flayer in him again at day of the dead. that's when the party and the rest of the gang decided to band together to help defeat the mind flayer once and for all. will sorts out his feelings with his completely oblivious best friend, who soon realizes el is not the one for him. like any other good summer, it sparks some new relationships and budding romances. but, of course something is going to get in the way of that..

Will comes back... changed, frightened, sensitive to things no one else can see.
