"When you speak of the troll, they're standing in your hallway" is an old Swedish saying that means, if you speak of the trolls, they might pay you a visit. Nea knows all the things considered forbidden to do in the woods. Especially in Finland, where her grandparents are from. She agrees to accompany Zack and Elina to the famous "Balancing Rock" Kummakivi in Finland for this very reason, hoping she can prevent bad things from happening, since Zack seems to lack all forms of respect for things related to folklore. Little does she know what Zack is really planning, and soon, she has a reason to fear for her life. 🍁🍂🍁 This is a novella that I entered a writing competition with and won. The Swedish anthology Folktro 2 (Folklore 2) is coming out on September 25th 2026, and this is my English translation for those who can't read the original. More info on how to find the book and the source material for all the eerie and bloody encounters this story is based on is in the last chapter. This story is, after all, based on true events.
