Niko has spent most of his life learning how to survive.
A hardened, solitary man living on the outskirts of Los Angeles, he keeps to himself, carries the scars of a life he rarely speaks about, and has learned not to expect much from the world.
Then, one day, he wanders into the wrong part of the woods.
Deep within Griffith Woods lives Velka.
Standing 2.2 meters tall, Velka is an anthropomorphic black panther and an apex predator. Powerful, athletic, and fiercely territorial, her midnight-black fur hides subtle purple markings, while amber eyes watch from the shadows.
Their first meeting is anything but peaceful.
Velka sees Niko as a trespasser.
Niko sees Velka as something he should probably be very afraid of.
But there are no instant friendships and no sudden declarations of trust. There are boundaries, misunderstandings, arguments, moments of danger, and plenty of reasons for either of them to walk away.
Yet something keeps bringing them back to the same forest.
Slowly, the predator begins to see more than an intruder.
And the man begins to see more than a monster.
Two strangers. Two very different worlds. Both carrying their own scars, both accustomed to surviving alone.
Neither knows what this strange encounter will become.
But it all begins with one simple choice.
Niko doesn't run.
That single decision changes everything.
