Sa baseball ang hit by pitch o deadball ay ang tawag sa pitch na tumama sa batter. Ito ang first pitch ni Saffron pero at that time para kay Nutmeg kahit pa bad pitch iyon, iyon na ang the best na pitch ni Saffron. Tumaba ang puso ni Nutmeg nang maramdaman niya ang passion at trust ni Saffron sa pitch niyang iyon. Nangako siya sa sarili niya noon na ilalabas niya ang potensyal ni Saffron, ito kasi ang ideal pitcher niya. May individuality ito sa mound, hindi siya basta-basta sumusunod sa call ng catcher kaya marami sa senior nila ang nagagalit dahil sila pa raw ang sumusunod sa pitcher. Tyrant ito ang moniker ni Saffron kapag nasa mound. Nang marinig ito ni Nutmeg halos naiyak siya sa katatawa. Sa kanya kasi nagsusumbong si Saffron kapag hindi niya na kaya balewalain ang pagpaparinig ng mga inggitera nilang teammates. Sinasabi na lang ni Nutmeg na titigil din sila at magfocus na lang sa paglalaro. Pero kapag wala si Saffron tinatakot niya rin ang mga senior nila. Noong una pinagtawanan pa siya at binully pero kalaunan tumigil din sila dahil sa mga record na nakuha ni Nutmeg na gagawa ng malaking eskandalo kapag lumabas. Ganun pa man kahit na tumigil sila sa pagpaparinig ay nagawa pa rin nilang papangitin ang image ni Nutmeg sa bago nilang head coach na gusto lang magfocus sa pitcher. Wala itong paki-alam sa mga player na tingin niya ay walang espesyal na kakayahan. From main catcher na-demote si Nutmeg sa pagiging bullpen catcher. Hindi siya nagprotesta dahil last year na naman nila sa middle school. Nawala sa isip niya na with her stepping down naiwan sa itaas si Saffron at sa clutch ng bago nilang Head Coach. Dahil dito naging Tyrant talaga si Saffron, nagkaroon ng restraint ang bond nila. Hanggang sa isang araw nilapitan siya ni Saffron at sinabihang, "Huwag mo na ako sundan. Hindi na kita kailangan." Ano ba puwedeng sabihin dun? She was speechless, by the time na makabawi siya, nakaalis na si Saffron. That was her second mistake. -

He wants to get involved more with Damon and Taylor's life but he knows what Damon will be confused why his mom is yelling at his baseball coach and why he's here. Some may call Zach a stalker because he kinda follows Taylor and Damon around. When Zach found out that Damon is interested in baseball he takes that as an opportunity to get closer to both of them, Taylor and Damon, and see if Taylor still has feelings for him because to be honest Zach still likes her. When Zach found out that he was going to be a dad he was in shock so he ran. Zach lives in LA with his best friend, Cameron.

Both starting varsity as a freshman, one a second year captain as a senior, the other a first year captain as a junior. When the two have to work together to plan fundraisers and schedule lifts, the tension grows. When mistakes happen, on and off the field, the two have to figure who they want to be.
