"Whether you believe in fairy tales or not, every girl is a princess to somebody." A modern retelling of a classic fairytale. This is a rewrite of my original story. I felt that it needed to be updated, but I didn't want to delete the original.

In 2004, connection sounds like dial-up tones and feels like waiting for a message to appear. A lonely freshman finds comfort in late-night AOL chats with someone halfway across the world-someone who listens, who doesn't ask questions she's tired of answering. But when another name appears on her screen, louder and more curious than the first, the space between messages starts to feel a lot smaller. A slow-burn love triangle told through music, online conversations, and the quiet moments in between.

"Why do you wear leg braces?" the kid asked me, his cute brown eyes staring up at me. "Mathew!" His Mom scolded. "Don't ask questions like that." She glanced at me and smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry, miss." I shook my head. "Its not a problem." I attempted to squat, so I could meet the boy's eyes. "Mathew, I wear leg braces to help me balance better. They also help me walk faster and have better endurance." "Woah." His voice was filled with wonder. "So with your braces, you're like a superhero!" I laughed sincerely. "Something like that." ***************************************** Lila Emilia Sullivan has a type of Cerebral Palsy. Her hands tremble uncontrollably and her poor balance makes it hard for her to walk, thus why she wears leg braces. She is 23 and lives in NYC. She's always figured that she'd be the person getting saved. The damsel in distress. Until one day, everything changes. She has a chance to be the saver....with a twist.

"Let me guess," he continued quickly and carelessly, before I could answer. "You were a cheerleader in high school?" My body bristled as I eyed him carefully, he just ignored me and kept going, "You ran all the groups in school, even the book club," he said, flopping his head and his curly, blonde locks towards my book. "All the guys think you're cute and you're constantly getting looks," he smiled, slowly letting his eyes explore my body again I smiled, tilting my head towards him. "Not all the guys," I quipped, sarcastically, twirling my blond hair around my fingers. "Bingo," he shouted, wagging his index finger at me confidently. "You're an asshole," I grunted. "I've been told that a time or two" he smirked.

This is a story of a girl with Cerebral Palsy....stay to the end to find out what happens..... I want to see where this story takes me. If people love it or not. I just need to see if I should publish it as an actual book.

Cerebral Palsy and Socialization - two different words interconnected to each other aesthetically. Cerebral refers to the brain and palsy refers to poor muscle control or weakness. Cerebral Palsy is a non-progressive condition as the brain damage is a one-off occurrence and though the brain cells affected will not be repaired other brain cells will continue to develop and work. Though there is no specific or stable treatment has been developed so far, Chris has overcome all the obstacles of cerebral palsy with his sheer will and hard work. He and his friend Lisa wrote a book named "They Said We Couldn't" describe the inspiring journey of his fight with cerebral palsy.
