Park Soyun- a 17 year old girl. Mysterious, cold, introverted, rude and short-tempered and yet people try their best to be friends with her, not because they love her or care for her but because they craved other's respect and being her close ones meant- all people around you respected you and avoided bothering you, all because of a petite, pale looking girl that one automatically assumes is sweet and jovial but as you get familiar with her nature- disbelief is a small word that you would use. She never raises her voice even when someone messes with her but the way she glares at the people makes them stunned and scared. Even the mightiest people wonder why even a mere glance of her makes them freeze or scared.
There was something almost cruel about the way beauty and coldness coexisted upon her face. Her features could have inspired sonnets, yet her expression carried the distant chill of a winter dawn. It was said that such a sight could rouse the dead from their eternal sleep, only to leave the living yearning for what they could never possess.
Even for closed ones, it was a celestial sight to catch a glimpse of her being a normal teenager, smiling, enjoying and reflecting common emotions. Emotions were rare, but misery was a constant. Like an invisible thread woven into her soul, it followed her through every season of her life, never truly letting her go.
Out of a sudden, she found out about her mother- Park Yoon-ah's relationship.
Kim Min-jae.
Soon, he would be her stepfather.
The name alone carried power and influence, yet Soyun felt neither fear nor excitement. She simply sat in silence, wondering how they would manage with her. She wasn't going to change for anyone. Not for Min-jae, not for her seven future stepbrothers she was apparently going to have. Those who deserved respect would receive it. Those who didn't would not.
Whether she liked it or not, the door to her future had already begun to open.
All she could do now was walk through it.
