Poems to pass the time.

In the central city of a fictional nation, a revered mansion is reduced to rubble by a sudden explosion. Over the course of twenty-one poems and in epic fashion, Eureka recounts the efforts of the sheriffs who have been called upon to investigate the cause of the fatal, heart-wrenching disaster. However, as grief permeates the air with smoke and ashes, the sheriffs' daunting search for closure is supplanted by a discovery that threatens to dismantle the Country even further.

This is a series of poems I wrote throughout the course of high school, and they're the sixteen poems that made it into my final chapbook project for my Creative Writing class. (Five years later and I've finally finished updating/posting. My apologies for the long hiatus.)

A chapbook.

Arabic for "Hurry Up, Love," Yalla Habibi is all about a personal exploration of Arab American identity. This condensed, illustrated chapbook of poems is written in 3arabeezi, or Arabish-- mostly English with some Arabic words (and a fun glossary is included to help out!) (( Did she say fun glossary?! Yes! It has jokes.)) These poems comment on growing up with family history that can often be at odds with growing up American, as well as figuring out who you can be when belonging to multiple cultures. And there's art to go along with it all!
