Author's Note: Welcome to my very first story! Not Meant To Be is an Undertale Reader-Insert/Chara fic, with emphasis on a plot, written purely for fun. It is heavily inspired by other works in the fandom. Rated Teen (T) just to be safe. Might bump to Mature due to (little) explicit language, violence and fantasy violence, and suggestive/sexual themes. I do not own Undertale or its characters. Enjoy!

(Y/N) (L/N) was just like any other normal girl(or human to be exact), with the exception that she wasn't really supposed to fall down Mt. Ebott. . . All she could remember were memories of things that were long since forgotten and some quite possibly deleted. She too was supposed to be deleted alongside those memories, though because of some unknown reason, she never was and instead, was sent to a place where nobody even knew existed. . . What happens when a certain Artistic and Forgetful Skeleton stumbles upon an old doodle of code of a person that "never" existed?, and after some thorough thinking and decision making, decides to create that person?. . . The moment his pinpricks set eyes on the person he had just "revived". . . Something tells him that things were gonna get very interesting. . . (Note: Cover Image ain't mine, though I totally didn't go to Google-Chan and typed AU Sanses for the picture hehe... oof-)

Join Frisk, Chara, Asriel, and their younger sister, Aria, as they share many happy moments together! 11 months after Frisk's most recent True Pacifist Run, they, Chara, and of course Goatbro himself (AKA Asriel Dreemurr) receive a wonderful surprise in their new sister, Aria. Eight years have passed since then, and the four children are having all sorts of fun with each other! However, that won't stop problems from starting again; Frisk and his friends will have to face a new threat. Even the Great Change two years ago, when magic surged into the world and monsters emerged from the underground, failed to spark any motivation within him. But now, with his mother deciding it was time for him to live with his aunt, a flicker of hope ignited within him-maybe this move would bring about a change. Clover had accepted his fate. Giving up his Soul to free Monsterkind was his final, ultimate act of justice. As his vision blurred, he surrendered to the euphoria, certain his story had ended. Then his eyes opened. He was back where it all began. Disoriented but alive-only one thought came to mind. Finding his friends. - Flowey had planned to let Clover rest-honest! But as his vine hovered over the Save button, ready to overwrite Clover's file-a flash of memory made him pause. It was the run where he lost. That alone was rare. But it wasn't the loss that made him pause. No, It was who he saw in it. Something shifted in his mind and as the gears turned a new plan started to form. - Chara hadn't expected to wake up, not after their plan to free Monsterkind had failed. They especially hadn't expected to wake up to a Cowboy slaughtering monsters. They reached for their save, determined to stop him. - The timeline has become unstable from the three beings forcefully seizing control over it in rapid succession. The instability grew to be severe enough that the boundaries between past and future have started to blur into an unrecognizable present. (Chara art by KyoBlack-H2vu)

Chara will never forget the day their life started over. It was like everything in their past suddenly became worlds away, the memories clear yet unreachable. The entire universe had shifted. Except it really hadn't. The world kept spinning; the sun still rose in the east and set in the west. Chara had followed that sun to the demise of their old life, and they were guided by it in their new life. They picked a direction and walked in it, until some other force stopped them, until life began again. This new life, this new world, couldn't be more different from anything they had known. --------- Or: A universe where there were never any human mages, underground, or reset possibilities, just a war between humans and monsters. Chara tries to survive in a small town near the border of monster and human territory while torn between which side they belong to.

[no ships rn] Killer Sans never had a choice from the beginning. Passed on from one to another, from Chara to Nightmare. Out of a frying pan and into the fire.. Honestly, you're speechless by his backstory. It's too tragic! Hes a bit too miserable for your liking. Though, reading the good ending for him made you felt somewhat better. Watching Killer and Color Sans rebelling against Nightmare was satisfying after seeing Killer get utterly destroyed by him in the previous comics. If you had to rate Sanses on which one you never want to be, Killer Sans would be at the top. After all, he hallucinates, hes mentally unstable, emotionless most of the time, usually slaving away for his boss and the whole 9 yards about his backstory. Unfortunately, you look at the knife in your hand and the dusty Snowdin then at the two souls beside you. Killer and Chara both arguing, the overwhelming voices around you made it unbearable already. [thought of on 8th March 2026]

Crystallize [kris-tl-ahyz] refers to the process where a liquid or gas transforms into a rigid, structured crystal lattice. Or... I look at my other two Avallon and thought 'Yeah I could do more angst with these bois.'

Chara's life wasn't so awesome when she lived in the Human world and it slowly got better when she fell into the underground, but then she made it worse...
