I remember specifically, when I was about eleven, it was Christmastime and my parents had bought some red wine. Of course since I was in my own house, I was legally allowed to have some. We made a toast, and clinked out glasses together after saying the customary "cheers!" We all sipped our drinks until my dad made an interesting remark. "You know guys, as a young man, when we would make toasts and clink glasses, I would always be confused. I never understood why we did that until, I looked it up! So, when two people clink their glasses some of the drink might spill into the other. In the days when 'cheers' was invented, it was very common for enemies to poison eachother. Therefore, clinking glasses is a form of saying 'I trust you'. Isn't that interesting, kids?" That always stuck with me. So, Can I trust You?
