Willow Price survives IAAN, the disease that wipes out 98% of America's teenagers and children. She should be considered lucky, but it only means being captured and taken to Thurmond, a supposed rehabilitation camp for the survivors who have all developed powers. Thurmond is hell. Specifically, it's an internment camp where the children are worked and punished. At least there, Willow meets a friend. The two girls help each other survive in Thurmond, and together they dream of their big escape that will never truly exist. After all, nobody makes it out of Thurmond alive.

When a strange disease called IAAN started killing kids all over the United States, the government isn't scared of all the kids who are dead, but the ones who are still alive, the ones who got powers. The government put the kids in camps and did tests on them and tortured them. No one is getting out unless you die or they find a cure. Whatever comes first. Until now. After battling the first few days with a gun wound, she falls asleep and wakes up with other kids who got out. Liam, chubs, and zu. She tries to hide her biggest secret from them, she isn't a green, she is an orange, but she fears if they know what she is, they will abandon her. She and Liam are falling hard for each other, but she cant be close to him, not after what happened with her parents. She is forced to stay on the run with them, trying to find the safe haven for kids, and stay away from the children's league, a government association who will stop at nothing to get ahold of Genevieve and use her for her powers. And as they get closer to grasping they things they've dreamed of for so long, Genevieve must make a hard decision deciding the future of not only her, but the ones she loves, one that may mean giving up her only chance at a life worth living.

So I was always had the idea of what would be like to see the books from another perspective specifically Liam's and I was wondering if others also wanted to see that so I decided to do it myself. This is completely based if what I would think it would be like and I don't claim ownership to anything involving Alexandra Bracken's original characters or from the original book.

~ Contains Spoilers from The Darkest Minds Series ~ IAAN affected so many kids, killing most of them while the rest gained abilities people thought were dangerous. Now that the threat of IAAN is gone, everyone thought that no more children would die or gain abilities but they were wrong... Some of the original kids who gained the abilities and survived the "rehabilitation camps" had kids of their own. No one expected the next generation to receive abilities as well. Ryker Stewart, the son of Ruby and Liam Stewart, is different then every other kid that received their abilities from their parents. Ryker received not only one color but two... Blue and orange. Blue from his father, orange from his mother. It wasn't suppose to be possible to have two abilities, he shouldn't exist but he does. Now, Ryker is at the top of the skip tracers list. There shouldn't be anymore skip tracers after the camps were destroyed but some have started to rebuild the camp stealing the next generation away from their parents. Ryker has to find out how to control both of his abilities if he wants to live. But when someone makes an appearance from his parents past, everything just got even more difficult for Ryker to survive.

Rose and her twin sister Ruby were sent to Thurmond. Six years later when they escape they have to learn how to navigate the world brought to ruin by IAAN. I originally wrote this on Quotev but I also wanted to post it here, because I haven't seen many Darkest Minds fanfics that don't center around Liam. This will be somewhat focused on Chubs, later on. The first three chapters aren't the best, but it does get better. I only own a few side characters, that's it, Alexandrea Bracken owns all the other characters.

IAAN started 6 years ago. It killed millions in the span of months. We thought we were saved by the new government camps. We thought they were there to keep us safe. To protect us from IAAN.
