She expects police to find his murderer and even narrows down the suspects, but police have better things to do than look for the murderer of a former juvenile delinquent. If Ehlana is going to figure out who murdered her boyfriend she's going to have to figure it out for herself. His best friend wants to date her. Her brother has goes missing. She's on the brink of being homeless. How will she figure this out?

Sixteen year old Deja dreams of the day she can get away from her abusive and overbearing mother, Courtney, but as soon as Deja takes steps toward her independence and dating Courtney snaps. Her mood swings keep Deja guessing, never knowing what abuse Courtney might put her through next. As Deja comes of driving age she realizes Courtney is hiding secrets, but what could someone as dull as her mother be hiding? When Deja accepts a job at the Dollar Cinema across the street from her housing development she hears a rumor that a teen girl was murdered at the Cinema sixteen years ago, and the murderer was never caught. The cold case doesn't dissuade Deja from taking the job, but in the process she unravels family secrets and endangers her own life. Although nobody has confirmed it, it is rumored that there is a single way off of the island. If someone were to collect the six amulets from their hidden shrines around Clandestine Island, that person could open a gate back to the world they were from. This spells trouble for the new arrival, Aiden, as he hunts for the six amulets and a way back to his world with his wolf companion Litho. Can he escape, or are the forces pushing against him too strong?
