Cato and Clove must learn to work with their enemies in order to make it out alive to one of the districts before the Capital finds them. but home is not safe for a bunch of supposedly dead tributes. They have heard rumors that District 13 still exists, and they are hoping against hope that the rumors are true and that they will make it there with each other by their side and be a few of the lucky ones. And possibly have their friendship turn into something more? Watch Cato and Cloves journey as they tackle life before the games, new feelings, and certain death at every turn.

It was a place where they could relax with their friends. It's extremely prestigious, it's almost like the Hogwarts of Panem. Clove has been best friends with Cato, Katniss and Finnick since childhood, but what happens when she starts to fall for a certain Blondie. Will she risk the friendship. She thinks about it but then she gets news that helps her decide that she will never say anything to him. He decides he has a girl he wants to ask out. Should he risk the friendship. Is it worth it. Or is it a mistake. Characters such as Clove, Katniss, Cato, Thresh, Glimmer, Peeta, Finnick and so on are property of Suzanne Collins. I do not own these characters however Cole is of my own creation. This book also uses the song 'I like me better' by Lauv which I love and listen to nonstop but isn't of my own creation. I wish I could come up with a song that good. What if Katniss never killed Marvel? What if district 12 was never meant to have a victor? What if the 74th Hunger Games was meant to have a victor from district 1? Marvel was once a nameless character in the first Hunger Games Movie and Book, but he will no longer be overlooked. You as a reader have 2 choices within this book, you could either read it as just the Hunger Games from Marvel's pov and stop at the point where in cannon he dies. Or... You can finish this book and see what happens when Katniss and Peeta don't win.

After all, everyone in District Two had been waiting for this day all year. Everyone but Clove Tibunette. Clove comes from a family of Victors and Past Tributes, and if it wasn't for her victory-crazed, blood thirsty mother, Clove would not be one of them. It doesn't help her case that her District Partner happens to be a volunteer tribute, the most vicious kind. When Clove starts to doubt her own abilities, everyone reassures her she was made for the games. She was bred to kill. And that is what scares her most.
