Für den Englischunterricht sollte ich eine Kurzgeschiche schreiben. Die Geschichte sollte irgendwann in den nächsten 30-50 Jahren spielen. Der Rest war freigestellt. Meinem Lehrer hat die Geschichte gefallen. Und mir zugegebenermaßen auch. Bis jetzt meine liebste Kurzgeschichte die ich geschrieben habe. Ich beschäftige mich mit der Gesichte zum größten Teil mit dem Klimawandel und dem sozialen Rechtsruck, den man schon heute zu spüren bekommt. Trotzdem sind große Teile der Geschichte frei zu interpretieren. Viel Spaß beim Lesen dieser Geschichte in einfachem Englisch.

Kyoto had never even seen the ocean before. But now, along with his family and a small colony of starving survivors, he has more to overcome than his inability to swim. Kyoto was raised in a grand technological age where society thrived in enclosed electronic cities. His city and its people were lost to a great breach of water, forcing survivors into the outside world. The air is a thick smog, the sea is a dark sludge, and the 3% landmass remaining is home to unrecognisable flora and fauna. With the air riddled with pollution, and the sea with aggressive sea-creatures and barbaric sea-farers, is humanity destined to be lost forever to the eco-systems from which we originated?

Human waste and political corruption have destroyed civilization. The only semblance of the society we had during this time are the bits and pieces we can find. A document, a child's diary, a letter to a lover. It's little but with this we paint the world in their light.

A group of teenagers won a science contest and are now going on a sailing cruise in the pacific. But then a storm occurs and they land on the island state Tuvalu. But this state will go down in the sea in the next years, if nothing about the climate change changes.

"Would you even notice if the Earth started screaming?" it's time to notice, and time to care. but there isn't much time left...
