Alec's life is turned upside down when he discovers that he is a Shadowhunter. Alec lived in Idris until he was ten, but Robert tries to kidnap Alec because he needs his blood to destroy downworlders. Maryse stops him and takes her children away from Idris and runs to New York. She had Simon the High Warlock of Brooklyn erase Alec's memories of the Shadow world, but doesn't keep it from Izzy and Max so she can train them to protect Alec. Maryse's plan worked and Alec lives a happy life free from the Shadow world, but everything goes wrong when Robert finds Alec.

Jace and Simon are entirely different people, who know the same people. They get forced together. Maybe by fate. Maybe it's just incidental. But it happens. And an explosion happens.

When Jace proposes to Simon, Alec is heartbroken as he was in love with Jace. Izzy wants to help Alec move on by dragging him out to a night of haaave you met Alec? Alec thinks he can never move on, but that changes when he meets Magnus Bane. Izzy has only ever been interested in flings and one night stands, but when Simon brings Clary into the group Izzy finds herself questioning her beliefs about love. Jace and Simon go through the stresses and joys of being engaged. Meanwhile Alec's abusive ex Jonathan wants Alec back and will do anything to get Alec.

So she was in her room, flipping through the pages of her sketchbook and seeing the same long black hair and sharp eyeliner, itching to grap a piece of charcoal and just fill the rest of the pages with full red lips and warm, like chocolate, eyes, framed by long, delicate eyelashes.

Alec stared at the beauty before him, his breathing became shallow and his heart suddenly felt heavy in his chest. His and his husband's bodies nearly touching one another's, their faces close to each other. He could see a twinkle in Magnus' eyes. Alec took a deep breath, as he pulled Magnus back up into his arms. His lips against Magnus' ears, chest pressed against each other. "I'm not stepping on your feet, am I?" Alec asked quietly. Magnus laughed low in his throat. "How could you be?" he said, "It's like I'm walking on air." Or: A collection of oneshots and drabbles.

That AU nobody asked for where Clary and Sebastian are brothers and they ran away from Idris after an attack from Circle members to their parents. They are raised by Magnus Bane, Catarina Loss, Tessa Gray and Ragnor Fell, and grow up away from the Shadowhunter world, in a world full of magic and few runes. Until their blood is called to fight.

"Um, so I had a little speech prepared, but I lost it on the way here and couldn't find it. Typical me, I know. You mean the world to me, Clary, and I can't stand the thought of ever losing you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I hope you want to spend yours with me. So, Clary, will you marry me?"

What if it was Isabelle that Clary met first? What if it was Isabelle that found Clary after she killed the Ravenor demon? What if it was Isabelle that Clary woke up to, not Jace? One change to a story, and it creates a ripple effect, altering each event just enough to build up, until the entire ending is different. (Regular updates) This is basically an AU where Isabelle is the one on duty when Clary is attacked by the demon, and this story is essentially about the domino effect that takes place just because of that small difference, - how they spend more time together because it's Izzy she wakes up to, not Jace, how they become friends from working missions together, how Jace starts talking to someone else, and the impact that has on the story.
